I recently became re-interested in anime when I got sick one day and discovered that Funimation's website allows you to stream some anime for free.
I started watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood because it was recommended to me and I've heard a lot about it being 'better' than the original series. I wasn't that much a fan of the original series so I didn't really want to watch Brotherhood but since it was there for free --and legal-- why not? And it's turned out very good so far overall, so I'm glad I did.
Now I'm looking at other Funimation anime that interests me.
As for manga, I find that hobby simply too expensive, so I'm not likely to finish any of the series I have started.

you don't watch naruto (and such ) ...i don't blame you :) its crappy.. the only reason i still watch it sometimes is that my bro watches it :(
anyways if u don't have time and want to wtach some thing unique i recommend you most of the Ghibli movies.
From the series i recommend you watch " Hanbun no tsuki ga noboru sora" << only 6 eps long. generally i don't like romance animes..for they are weak...but this one is an exception;)

Oo, a manga reader! Check out this thread when you get a chance - I'd love it if you could help us fill in the holes in the DB! :D (which are a lot, we only have about 200 manga up at the moment!)
