Tokyo Magnitude 8.0

Mar 8, 2012

After an earthquake occurs, brother and sister Yuuki and Mirai are left to their own devices. Alone and afraid they hold on to each other for support. Whilst Yuuki is always very open about his love for his sister, it's Mirai who has trouble in showing affection or emotion. So when they are forced to bear witness to this horrible disaster, they both find themselves clinging on and being the support they so need. But it's not until they meet Mari, does their real journey begin. From my 'genre's I love' you might have noted that romance is more my thing. Well, from... See full review

She and Her Cat

May 10, 2014

yesterday i decided to give this a go thinking it would be a breezy watch. i gave SHE AND HER CAT a go to only to find out it was just under five minutes. well, as crazy as it sounds, they were the most charming five minutes of my day.   we watch on, as a the narrator, (the cat) tells us the story of his owner and what she means to him. he speaks of how she took him in when he was alone. how she fed and gave him love and affection. it is clear that he is absolutely smitten with her - if not in love. he tells us of how his days pass, mainly consisting of him lounging around in wait of his... Patema Inverted

May 10, 2014

It has been a while since i have done a review since i haven't watched anime for a while. but since i have started to get into them again, i thought it was time go give reviewing another go since i missed it so much. i particularly decided to review this movie because i noticed that there were hardly any on the movie. and it's simply too good for that to be the case. so here it goes!
Visually stunning, with a promise of a sweet love-story, i was instantly intrigued. Petema Inverted is by no means mind-blowing but it's touching -and even quite deep at times- leaving me a lot to think about. It's... See full review

PSYCHO-PASS

Mar 22, 2013

And it comes to an end... for now, i hope. Psycho pass has taken me on quite journey. It started off pretty strong for me but slowed down halfway through but then thankfully picked itself back up again soon enough. We see the system through Akane and Kogami's eyes, and it's clear that the sibyl system is just all kinds of wrong. But whilst Kogami constantly tries to rebel in his own way, Akane, on the other hand, fits into it like a glove. We are taken through thier internal struggles as they cope with expectations, change and growth. One of the main problems is that the series is so focused on quoting... See full review

Un-Go

Oct 25, 2012

Detective Yuki Shinjuro isn't the most appealing protagonist, but I have to admit that he definitely left me intrigued. He’s the type of guy that manages to keep his cool in the tightest of situations whilst keeping just about anyone far away as possible. I, personally, tried to find something to like about him but I struggled a little. That’s not to say that I hated him, but so much of the time he was so dismissive of certain things which I felt he should have fought harder for. Basically, I couldn’t figure out how much he was doing for the greater good or for his own gain... See full review

Gosick

Sep 29, 2012

After listening to my brothers gushing for three days straight I decided to finally give it a go. To be honest, the first few episodes started off a little off for me. I just wasn’t feeling it. Or more importantly, I didn’t feel as engrossed as I needed to be to continue with the series. But by episode five things finally started to pick up. From there on for a while things went pretty smoothly and I found myself breezing through the episodes, but not before long I would be a step back when again I felt like the series was starting to lose my interest. The last few episodes were great but did I... See full review

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

May 16, 2012

Makoto and her best friends Chiaki and Kousuke have an inseparable and touching bond that has always kept them together, but what Makoto fails to notice is the things they have sacrificed to ensure that they always stay together and that she never feels alone. Both are great looking guys and receive a fair amount of attention from girls, but for some reason - perhaps due to her nativity - she never seems to realise why both turn each girl away. She fails to notice that things surely can't be this way forever. People change, move on and grow.  The opportunity to do... See full review

Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day

Mar 7, 2012

oh how I loved this.  I've seen many reviews that complain of a waterfall of tears. But it didn't bother me much. So do not let that put you off, is my first piece of advice. Six childhood mates broken apart by the death of one. It's something which can tear any group apart. But their pain is not apparent from the get-go. Nor is her family's. But when you see more of a clearer picture. Gosh are these guys broken and hurting. It makes you want to scream or look away. It's this gradual build up of pain that really catches you by surprise. You see them moving on with their lives but once they get... See full review

ItaKiss

I absolutely fell in love with this anime. Sure, the premise isn't anything we haven't heard of before. But I was pleasently surprised by it. Episode after episode it continued to hold my attention. And eventually, I was lost in our protagnoists life. He's the popular bad boy in school. Only problem, he's a major douche and doesn't even know she exists! Not to mention he hates those ditzy girls. Well, that's our girl through and through. He's in the top set, and her... not so much. And here begins one of many episodes in which she tries to grab his attention again and again and again.  To be honest... See full review
