Hello everyone, I'm Akawoa and I'll be your anime tutor for the day ^_-! Reading my profile you may notice that I tend to rate shows fairly high on a regular basis. This is because I don't follow the rating system that many other people adopt. I'll run through my personal rating gamut so that those reading my list can more eaily determine whether or not they'd enjoy my veritable feast of anime :D. I feel that it would be worth mentioning a minor detail before you look into any of my ratings. I'm one of those folks who actually cares for the english dubbed versions of anime more than the subbed. This isn't to say I won't watch subbed, I just find dubs more relatable and often times the performances are more natural(not quite so over the top). So if I mention anything about voice acting when I watch a show, I will almost always be talking about the dubbed version, as that is the only version I tend to watch.

.5-3: This rating range is reserved for the worst of the worst. The repeat offenders that lack any semblance of a coherent plot, lay claim to awful acting, or just have nothing at all to offer that hasn't been done before(and better). I only rate shows this low if I sneered while watching it. That's the true test, if I, of all people, dislike a show this much there's got to be a good reason. Although, keep in mind that I abhor moe, loli, yaoi, and magical girl shows.

3-4: Any anime that falls under this particular range was good enough to recommend, however it lacks something that would make it greater. Shows that receive this rating are often those that I hear about that get overhyped (looking at you Cowboy Bebop!) and fall below their expectations. I will recommend these to others if I feel it fits their taste more than mine, but you won't see me watching them again in the forseeable future unless a friend of mine forces me to do so.

4-4.5: Anything falling within this classification is a wonderful show. I truly enjoyed viewing it and would watch it again, however I'm not as likely to buy it for whatever reason. Sometimes the show itself will do a fantastic job, but we'll get a mega-cliffhanger ending; that's a reasonable example of my motives for rating something in this range. I suppose anything in here would be considered excellent entertainment, just not good enough to go on my "classics" list.

5: If an anime receives a five star rating from me, that means that I enjoyed it enough to purchase it and it's earned the right to fall within the group of titles that I consider my favorites. Anything that has reached this point will forever be added to my recommendation list. I'll also go out of my way to give a plot synopsis when recommending it or, if I feel a particular person would enjoy it, I'll pester them until they watch it ^_-. Essentially, any title that I rate this high is under the all-encompassing category of "Do Want". Whether it's a mecha, fantasy, science fiction, or slice of life, it's earned its own place on my shelf and will be watched for years to come.

I've settled ratings but you may be wondering about my favorites list right? Well this is where everything melds into a gray area. I obviously love every single show on my favorites list, however, depending on how recently I've viewed them the list will be skewed. I like to think of it as if the top ten list I have is more of a "you NEED to watch ALL of these shows" list. Honestly, if I had to choose between all of them Tenchi Muyo would come first, but I have trouble distinguishing which are my favorites after the first five. The only thing you need to worry about is making sure you've watched all of them at some point ^_^.
