Kuro to Kin no Akanai Kagi.

Feb 14, 2015

Kuro to Kin no Akanai Kagi is based on an adult otome game and is a despicable piece of shit that shouldn’t be viewed by anyone. There, that’s all you need to know. Goodbye and enjoy your life not having seen this garbage. … What, you still want to know more? Fine, but don’t tell me I didn’t warn you. Story Kanade is a total recluse, living alone with her brother Ikuto (hey, don’t worry, they’re not related by blood, so you don’t have to feel all grossed out later!), not even able to leave the safety of her own room. Why, you ask? God knows why, but... See full review

Here is Greenwood

Dec 24, 2014

SECRET SANTA 2014 REVIEW Alright, confession time. I’m one of those people that tend to avoid older series just because the animation looks absolutely dated. And that’s completely horrible of me, because once in a while an anime like Trigun or Here is Greenwood comes along and proves me so wrong I want to bury myself in shame and never show my face ever again. You see, even though Here is Greenwood doesn’t look as pretty as, say, K-On!, it’s an incredibly charming series that managed to make me care for its characters in just 6 episodes. All while being as 90’s as... See full review

Aura: Koga Maryuin's Last War

Sep 9, 2014

It doesn't happen often that a movie resonates with me the way Aura: Maryuuinkouga Saio no Tatakai did. And I feel that it will hit close to home for a lot of other people as well. Story Ichirou Satou just wants to be a normal high school boy, doing normal high school stuff without standing out too much. That is, until he meets Ryouko Satou, a somewhat eccentric girl who walks around in a weird get-up, pretending she’s from another world, who manages to stir up his so-called normal life. To put it simply, Aura: Maryuuinkouga Saigo no Tatakai is a simple story about two people helping each other get... See full review

Hal

Sep 8, 2014

You know the surefire way for an anime to win its way to my heart? Have a bittersweet love story that makes me cry. Well, apparently the creators of HAL know me all too well. Story How do you cope with the loss of someone you spent every waking moment with? After the death of her boyfriend, Kurumi holed herself up in her house. Not wanting to see her suffer anymore, her grandfather decides to get her a robot that looks exactly like Hal. Reluctant at first, the girl slowly opens up her heart. When reading the synopsis I didn’t really know what this movie would be going for. Is it going to be a kind... See full review

Hanayaka Nari, Waga Ichizoku

Sep 5, 2014

Hanayaka Nari, Waga Ichizoku is a reverse harem anime based on the otome game with the same name. For those who don't know, otome games are kind of like dating sims/visual novels geared towards a female audience. The content is usually romantic in nature, with the player having to choose between various male characters and getting them to fall in love with you. And they usually make for really bad adaptations. This title is certainly not an exception.
Story
Haru Asagi just started her job as a maid in the Miyanomori family to support her sick father. When the family head unexpectedly announces his... See full review

My Mental Choices are Completely Interfering with my School Romantic Comedy

Jul 19, 2014

What the hell is up with romantic comedies and their need to have an overly long title? I’m not going to lie though, the title is totally the reason I picked this one up. So it does serve a purpose, I guess. My Mental Choices are Completely Interfering with my School Romantic Comedy, or NouCome for short, is as completely ridiculous and nonsensical as its title suggests. As someone who despises panty shots, bouncing boobies and harem plots with the fiery passion of  a thousand suns, I have to say that… This anime isn’t all that bad. Yeah, colour me surprised as well. Story Amakusa... See full review

Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin

Jun 9, 2014

Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin had the unfortunate luck of being released in the same season as megahits Angel Beats!, Kaichou wa Maid-sama! and K-On!! (a good season for exclamation marks it seems). And although this meant a lot less viewers, it was also quite a blessing. You see, people had grown tired of these shows where cute girls played such an important role. And thus, fans immediately praised the show for its real and gritty portrayal of life in post-WWII Japan. What a difference it was in comparison to all those moe blobs! This is what anime needed, a big dose of realism and sadness. No... See full review

Pupa

Apr 19, 2014

Oh God… Why did I ever think this was a good idea? I have to admit, the premise of this show sounded vaguely interesting. A little girl, turned monster that has to eat people to survive? And her bro sacrifices himself to that purpose? Yeah, that could work. Oh how wrong I was. This sad, little excuse for a ‘horror‘ anime is a poorly disguised fetish show full of implied and actual (well, technically) incest, horrible pacing and unexplained scenes that you might as well look at it as a series of unconnected events. I can’t even tell you what the story’s about besides monster... See full review

Trigun

Dec 30, 2012

Secret Santa Review
Ah, Trigun. A series that rings as many bells as Cowboy Bebop, Akira or any of those other classics of which I suddenly can’t remember the name. And yet I hadn’t watched it (not that I’ve already seen the other titles, but damn, I really should). As a matter of fact, it hasn’t even been on my Want to Watch list. ‘Why?’ you ask - or maybe not, I have no idea what strangers on the Internet think. Well, I wouldn’t even be able to answer that question. An anime about a legendary gunman living through all kinds of whacky adventures while on the... See full review
