The reason this anime got a high score is because of its high standards for the genres it choose to portray. Bleach is an action adventure and comedy anime. It's about a high school student who meets a girl that only rare people can see because she is from another plane called the soul society. In a twist of events this teenage boy gets a powers of a soul reaper but as they say in subs  shinigami which means god of death.
