Think you have what it takes to be one of Anime-Planet's site reviewers? Find out more!
My fav genres include sci fi and horror, but you'll find a lot of obscure reviews from me too, given I watch a ton to add to the database. My new reviews are written a lot better than my old ones, so when in doubt, sort by date! ^_^ Enjoy, and I welcome any and all feedback.
To me, the unrealism was the end. It felt like it went from an amazing romance comedy to a typical anime where the main protagonist has to venture to a world he doesn't know and rescue his princess. Of course, I understand why it was needed, but I think they played it off as if another writer had simply taken over. But It's been a year since I've watched this and my memory isn't exactly photographic.Good review, I agree with everything you said accept one error: The girl the guy likes treats him well, but not romantically. I think she'd give him the time of day or help him whenever he needed. ^_^
I read the manga (and haven't saw the OVA), and some of 'questions' that are adress here were answered there. Perhaps they are trying to make the anime more realistic than the manga? I dunno. Here I come to confuse you more I guess..
1) Ai being unattractive
- Broken VCRs fault. It's so faulty, the dream girl became not so attarctive. If the VCR is not like that, Ai would have been beautiful.
2) Ai being real.
- Actually that was the point of the rental for pure hearts. They offer videos that pops up girls from Tv to pure hearts. The deal is, they only last in a limited time (I think it's 7 days). More are put in the manga, but I think this is where they went to more unrealistic zone.
seriously, how many times can you compare a single anime with kimi ga nozomu ein. i understand that it is exceptional but you don't see every gangster film that comes being compared to the godfather. terrible terrible review.
