When Najika was a little girl, her parents died, and she nearly did as well until a boy saved her and gave her a flan so that she'd stop crying. Since then Najika has wanted to once more meet her ‘Flan Prince,' though all she has to go on is the silver spoon he left behind. Now a young lady, Najika is on her way to Tokyo to study at Seika Academy, the origin of the spoon and a prestigious cooking school. While there she'll hone her culinary skills, help transform a school eatery into something special and make new friends such as the brothers Daichi and Sora - but will she ever find her prince?
In both manga the heroine has an excellent sense of taste and got into a special school thanks to someone's recommendation. Najica plans to become a chef and is already good at cooking and baking, while Ichigo wants to become a pâtissière and is a complete beginner. At first both Najica and Ichigo have a few problems fitting in but they persevere and they work hard to improve their skills so that they can make others smile while eating their food/sweets.
Both manga are about a girl who likes to eat cakes and starts training to become a pâtissière. Even though she is inexperienced and messes up a lot she has some good ideas about designing and decorating cakes.
