Some weak guy enters some high school without knowing that in it the students are made to fight each other (including but not limited to death). Also both series are cliche and not very good, but Love Gun is probably slightly better.

Both manga are about boys who unwittingly enter strange high schools for the magically gifted without any power of their own.

Both male protagonists become fixated on a female heroine and work hard to be able to protect them, despite not having power.

Both protagonists somehow happen upon power to better protect their friends and loved ones.

Objectively speaking, Mx0 is a much better manga. It's funny, endearing, and quite frankly smart. The protagonist uses his wits to overcome the difference between himself and his classmates. I really recommend it.

However, that being said, Yakuza Girl is a much better romance and has a much more classical other-world fantasy feel to it. It is still worth the read.

If you want to read another (and very likely better) series that features a male lead who searches for a wife, you might as well give Tokyo Innocent a try. Did I mention that of those two IMHO Tokyo Innocent is better by far?

In both manga some normal dude gets shoved into a special school where the kids slaughter each other as a part of the curriculum. In both his behind is saved by some strong girl.  The difference is that Take Dake Dake! - Takedakei Gentei i samurai themed, while Yakuza Girl is... well, yakuza themed. Although Take Dake Dake! - Takedakei Gentei has a fair bit of fanservice, it's all tame in compare to Yakuza Girl which can probably be classified as borderline H. I didn't find the setting nor plot interesting in either of those series, but if you did, you might as well try the one you haven't read yet.
