Vendemiaire is a young girl who isn't actually a girl - she's a puppet who was granted life by her Creator. Sometimes with wings, sometimes the exact likeness of a girl, she forms new relationships with the people she meets, always impacting their life in some way. And while she often touches their hearts, they often try their best to save her from her fate.
Shiina is a sixth-grade tomboy whose brave and adventurous nature almost causes her to drown in the ocean. However, from the experience she meets a ‘Shadow Dragon' that she names Hoshimaru; strangely silent and star-shaped, it has the ability to shape shift and fly. Soon, Shiina makes yet another new friend: a troubled girl named Akira who happens to also acquire a Shadow Dragon. Yet Shiina and Akira aren't alone - others besides them have Shadow Dragons, and not all of them have such innocent intentions. Furthermore, the Japanese Military has taken an interest in the creatures' combative uses. What are the Shadow Dragons, where did they come from and what is their ulterior motive? Shiina is determined to find out...
They both deal with impact of the heroine on ohter charachters. WOF is basicaly arond that when it's a side thing in Shadow Star, none the less it is still well made in terms of interactions and progression from the inpact and onwards. It IS from the same author so it's no wonder that mood, atmosphere and artowork is the same. In the end Narutaru is a lot better, through WOV is exelent read if you are not pleased by only SS. I know you aren't...
