A super powerful, selfish and somewhat evil witch is back in business after years of break. It's time to wreak havoc and take over the world again... or rather would be if not for that little curse which prevents the use of former power. World domination is not all lost though, for witch's companion, a young boy (to be more exact his affection), seems to hold the key to unlock her powers. Does it sound interesting? If so, go read The Legend of Maian and Kurohime, because that's what they're both about.

If you enjoy epic scale magical battles and the shock and awe of the average citizen watching a stupidly sexy, ruthless sorcerer fight like a deity and bring legends to life. Then you will enjoy the Legend of Maian or Kurohime. In each, before the story begins the main heroin was defeated attempting to change the world. When she finally finds her way back home she finds that she is unable to face her objectives due to being restricted and bound to a seemingly random and useless nice-guy who turns out is not so useless or random. The two proceeded to struggle to understand each-other and strengthen themselves until their bonds are forcefully broken and they must turn all efforts to fight against the separating pull of fate, magic, old enemies, rivals, god-like beings, and good old amnesia.

JAhU JAhU says...

Both The Legend of Maian and Superior feature a female end-boss (you know like the ones in RPGs) as a female lead. Their common sense is that of a villain, but since they get to hang out with a good guy, they have to adjust their way of thinking "a bit". Both series are medieval-like, action-adventure series, so if you liked one, the other one should prove interesting too.

Ubel Blatt

Ubel Blatt

Köinzell is a master swordsman who, along with thirteen other heroes, was sent by the Szaalenden Empire to block an invasion of their enemy Wischtech. Along the way three died, four betrayed the others and seven defeated the traitors and returned as heroes. At least, that's what people believe. In reality the ‘Seven Heroes' were the real traitors, defeating the four true champions after the seven had fled the battle in cowardice. Köinzell has bided his time for twenty years, honing his skills and recovering from the brink of death so that he may avenge his fallen comrades. The time for vengeance has finally come and all who stand in his way shall be dismembered without hesitation, but it won't be easy as everyone believes the lies of the traitors. With all the soldiers in the land and the public against them, Köinzell and his ragtag allies may have to sacrifice everything if they are to prevail against the might of the entire nation.

A powerful hero of the past returns and his\her actions are bound to shake the world. How can he\she not shake the world, when  his\her intentions seem to be bad. If that sounds interesting to you then you're best bet would be to go read Ubel Blatt and\or The Legend of Maian. Additionally, both of those are medieval-like, fantasy, action-adventure series.

P.S. Keep in mind that Ubel Blatt has some mature content in it (though it gets watered down after one or two volumes).

Claymore

Claymore

In a land overrun by yoma - monsters that feed upon human innards and take on the appearance and memories of their victims - humans are little more than cattle awaiting slaughter. The only opposition to the yoma is The Organization, a group led by a council of mysterious men who send out their all-female warriors (known as claymores) to do their bidding. However, The Organization is not charitable; a town must pay an exorbitant fee for their services. Likewise, many of the claymores care little for those who they protect. Clare, the lowest ranked claymore, lives only so that she may one day avenge her mentor.

Both Claymore and The Legend of Maian feature a weak boy traveling with a strong, older chick. Also, both of those have this medievalish fantasy setting. If you liked one of them, you might actually like the other one too.

If your looking for another action adventure series set in a fantasy setting than look no further. Both Dark Air and Legend of Maian are exactly like that. What's more both have a party of heroes and in both there is a strong chick and weak boy (it doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing).
