Alicia is a very interesting person. people call her the mistress of death and she is so fine with it. in fact she rather likes it. shes like a victorian goth lover, minus the black. she goes through life with a very accepting personality. i hated the wench maid, read it and you will understand, but liked the story over all. Worrying about too much romance? Well dont. Though emotionally they do get closer it isnt cheesy or sudden. it happens by them getting to know one another. theres little romantic interaction just a getting to know each other and accepting each other kind of thing. I wish there was more to it. The ending tapers off and though its not a bad one some things are left unsettled.

The story is OKAY. Honestly, I was about to stop reading it because I got bored. But my mind suddenly changed because of Alicia. She's very funny and interesting :)

I would have preferred a better ending... Don't get me wrong! It was ended well, but... I just wish that more had happened. I wish that Alicia and Kashburn could have had more romance and gotten closer. And that Kashburn had dropped the maid - that would have been really nice.

Plus, it always seemed like the maid was setting up Alicia to get into trouble and as if she was trying to get rid of her or something. That wasn't addressed at all in the series and I think that it should have been!
