The biggest thing that makes these two manga similar is the lead males. Both are scary-looking high school students that are feared by all their classmates. However, in both their cases a girl is able to discover that although they sometimes get violent when provoked, the guys are actually very friendly and goofy. If you enjoyed one of these manga because of the lead male, then you'd enjoy the other for sure.

Girl basically tames trouble making boy. If you even just look at the picture for the both of them its similar.

FullmetalDragon FullmetalDragon says...

Both series are about pretty violent boys who often get in fights, although often not on purpose, and the girls they fall in love with.

Mu254 Mu254 says...

Both are similar because, an innocent, slightly scary looking/acting boy meets up with a giirl who is seemingly the only person who can "tame" him.

Atashi no Bambi

Atashi no Bambi

Haruko Nanase wasn’t always the brightest student, but through sheer hard work she successfully entered a prestigious high school and is at the top of her class. While riding the train one day, she witnesses a fight involving a guy wearing the same uniform as her. When the fight is over, he demands that she pay him a fee for watching it but she escapes. The escape is not to last though, because the next day the guy turns out to be in the same class, and worse, his seat is next to hers.

Both mangas are about a troublemaker guy and a neerdy girl who collide and learns to take care of eachother.I recommend both they are good reading material if u like romance. The share a simillar storyline and both are amazing.

YuiYui YuiYui says...

So this is probably a really typical recommendation but oh well. Nerdy girl meets deliquent boy, then the girl trys to get the boy into school and it turns out to be a detailed love story in a way. The storyline is similar even though my little monster is spread over a wider series whereas Atashi no Banbi is spread over a single volume.

FullmetalDragon FullmetalDragon says...

Both series feature a very studious girl and a delinquent boy falling in love. They are extremely similar, and if you like one, you'll almost certainly like the other.

Zed Zed says...

Both are romance stories that follow a similar premise of a delinquent and a nerdy girl falling in love with each other.

These two have lots of similarities from tags to story plot. Both are Rom-Com Shoujo and have female main characters think of the male main characters as their rival. Male main characters have   a mysterious personality and annoying attitude when the talk comes to their family/past.

The Wallflower

The Wallflower

Four gorgeous guys, one fabulous mansion and one challenge - turn the landlady's niece into a perfect lady and live rent free; fail and their rent will triple! Surely this task will be no problem for Ranmaru Mori, Kyouhei Takano, Takenaga Oda and Yuki Tohyama, who are lauded as the princes of their high school and have girls dropping at their feet daily... right? The boys' dream of rent-free living comes crashing down when they meet Sunako Nakahara, the girl they must transform. Sunako has devoted her life to solitude, preferring the company of anatomy mannequins, horror movies and the darkened seclusion of her bedroom to the presence of the ‘dazzling creatures' that cause her to have violent nosebleeds. Flushing her out into the light might prove to be more than the boys can handle!

A young boy who doesn't enjoy high school life is brought into the thick of it due to a budding relationship with a girl who seems, on the surface, to be the exact opposite of him.

They make friends, study for exams, get involved in fights, and generally run around having fun.

If you enjoyed the setting and group dynamics of the characters in one manga I can pretty much guarantee you'll enjoy them in the other.

Both Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun and Ouran High School Host Club have protagonists who are hardworking, pragmatic and studious girls surrounded by rich boys.  The heroine is strongly influenced by her lawyer mother as a role model.

One is blond and the other is dark-haired.  One is enthusiastic and eccentric while the other is refined with smarts that equal our heroine.  Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun has the two male leads start off as one-sided friends turned frenemies over the heroine.  Ouran High School Host Club has Kyoya annoyed by Tamaki's attempts at friendship at first but over time, they become fast friends joined by the rest of the host club.

Tonari and Ouran are breezy romantic comedies with a likeable cast and many of the wacky situations made comedic by the heroine's deadpan expressions.

A lazy but talented guy falls in love with a determined, practical girl who rejects him at first.  His adorably inane antics both annoy her and endear her to him.  She starts to like him back but it looks like a girl with glasses has also fallen for him.  And then the male lead's rival from his past starts liking our heroine because of their similar passion and seriousness.  Meanwhile, the relationship between our lazy but talented male lead and our heroine goes back and forth between annoyance and romantic glimmerings because she fears that actually going out with each other would conflict with her duties (to her studies in Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun and to her responsibilities to the basketball team in Namaikizakari).

The same kind of sweet and twisted romance story except both boy and girl are awkward in My Little Monster (also has anime).  In Last Game, only the girl is awkward in Last Game.

Cheese in the Trap and Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun are slice of life series about a hardworking, studious girl with orangey brown hair and her dark-haired naturally gifted love interest who's slightly yandere.  The boy's blond frenemy from childhood also develops feelings for the protagonist after they initially get off on the wrong foot and eventually develop a friendship.  The two boys are foils to one another: one is wealthy and cultured, the other is a runaway/vagabod.

Well-developed side characters populate the cast.  Humor is balanced with drama which runs the gamut from friendship conflicts to social class differences.  Solving communication issues in a romantic relationship is one of the big themes in both series.  Cheese in the Trap and Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun give interesting psychological profiles of two very different individuals and how their approaches to life affect their relationship.

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun has high school-aged characters and a simpler plot that focuses on the comedy more than the drama.  Cheese in the Trap features college-aged students, hence the multiple, complex conflicts that pop up.

So the whole two polar opposite trope is one we have seen all too often in both anime and manga, these two manga are prime examples of this happening. They also have similar MC's with the girl in the relationship being slightly cold towards anyone really but really wanting to have a friendship with at least someone then she meets a lively boy which is present in both anyway. Both have the drama and romance elements, and in both these elements are all executed really well and honestly I do think if you liked one then check out the other.
