Having a romance, that seems forever thwarted is one of the similarities of these two manga.

Add the fact that both have a large cast of eccentric characters, and is penned by the same author, and you can not help but enjoy both.

Touch

Touch

Identical twins Tatsuya and Kazuya may look the same, but it's the younger Kacchan that everyone is interested in. As an excellent baseball player who is popular with all the girls and friends with all the guys, it's no wonder their childhood friend Minami prefers him over the slobby and less social Tacchan. In life, however, the path to true love and success is never an easy one -- a lesson the two boys will learn through a mix of sporting events, love triangles, typical school worries and a number of other painful and challenging situations...

Somehow, I can not help but feel a similar vibe with slice of life and romance in both of these titles.

It also helps they have proper endings, both of them.

If you like one, you should like the other.

Yume de Aetara

Yume de Aetara

Twenty-four-year-old Masuo has never kissed or held hands with a girl in his life, much less had a girlfriend. Masuo finds himself torn between the two of them as he attempts to maintain his friendship with Miho while pursuing a relationship with Nagisa, but Miho hasn't given up on him and her continued advances make Nagisa understandably jealous. Will Mauso find the courage to turn down Miho, or will her persistence win his affections?

These stories are very similar. They are both fairly long romantic comedy stories where the guy and the girl obviously like each other but mishaps and obsticals get in their way.I would say Maison Ikkoku is the much better, realistic, story with better characters. Yume de Aetara has a very wimpy lead and more 2-dimensional characters. If you like one, you will probably like the other though.

Princess Jellyfish

Princess Jellyfish

Tsukimi is an otaku and jellyfish enthusiast whose only means of coping with the world is to reject it: she and her friends live in a house they declare a man-free zone, generally avoid 'stylish people', and spend their days blissfully bonding over geeky rituals. As misfortune would have it, their convenient existence is about to be turned on its head by the arrival of Kuranosuke, a seemingly beautiful young woman who is actually a beautiful young man. While he may be strange even by their standards, Kuranosuke embodies everything Tsukimi secretly dreams of being - a princess as ethereal as a floating jellyfish - and promises the kind of mind-boggling adventures only possible when geek meets chic!

The "apartment comedy with laughs and tears" centers on a 4-year-old boy named Satou Kotarou, who moves next door to Karino Shin, an unsuccessful manga artist. Kotarou has no parents and lives alone. Not only does he seem to earn a living, he actually seems more put together than his own strange neighbors.
