Hikari Hanazono has never been able to beat Kei Takishima at anything. At six years old the two were introduced by their fathers, and Hikari promptly challeneged Kei to a wrestling match, believing she'd easily beat him. However, she lost, and since then she's vowed to beat Kei, following him wherever he goes. Now fifteen years old, Hikari attends the super-elite school Hakusenkan where she and Kei are the two top students; Kei holds first place, while Hikari is second. While Hikari considers Kei her special friend and most importantly her rival, Kei is secretly in love with her. Will Hikari ever beat Kei, and Kei's love ever be requited?
In both manga the female lead is dense and strong and is always competing with the male lead, while being totally oblivious to the fact that he likes her.
The main characters are similar in many ways, the female being strong, hard-working, determined and bad at cooking while the male is a genius who does well in many things. The male characters both have a secretive side about their families.
Both manga have a head-strong independent girl who can take care of herself. Although Hikari isn't as violent as Misaki towards guys, she has a hardworking attitude and is dense toward her feelings for the one she loves. Kei is always pretty similar to Usui where both have superhuman strength and ability. Although Usui teases Misaki more than Kei does with Hikari, the feeling is the same. Both are school settings and are great romances. Plenty of humor as well.
If you are looking for one of those school romance types of comedies Maid-sama! and Speacial A are just the ticket. Both of the female protagonists are trying to out do the guy that they happen to really have feelings for. The men happen to be really similar to each other (the even look alike) very strong and attractive, slyly supporting the female character on their way.
I'm no expert on shoujo manga to say this, but Special A and Maid Sama! felt somewhat alike. Yes, it's one of those "gut feel" recommendations. If you liked one of those, you should check the other one as well.
P.S. I got the impression that Maid Sama! was the better one among those two.
Want an anime girl that is not 'maiden in distress'? Well, these animes are perfect for yor taste, brothers. See, these female protagonist embark on a journey of romance but of course with a tint of comedy.
Both are really funny shoujo romances with a both literally strong and strong-willed female lead (finally!) And not to piss anyone off but their characters/stories are extremely similar even having both of the female leads suck at cooking and SPOILER have the male lead be part European SPOILEREND but both are enjoyable nonetheless. Although I must say that special a is a lot more funny while maid sama has a teensy bit more romance.
Both series are comedy and romance. They are both really good while having different plots. I really loved them.
very similar idea with the whole guy loving the girl and girl wanting to beat the guy in everything
Before Teru’s brother died, he gave her a special cellphone connected to "Daisy", a boy who would be there to look out for her whenever she needs someone. One year later and Teru continues to send mails to the mysterious Daisy, but she still has no idea who he actually is. One day, after accidentally breaking a window at school, Teru meets the rude school janitor, Tasuku Kurosaki, who insists she work off the cost of repairing the damage. But there’s more to this grouchy caretaker than meets the eye as in reality he is the Daisy who has been watching over Teru for all this time! With no intention of letting the lonely girl know his true identity, Tasuku must attempt to help Teru without being discovered, but can he really keep up the act, and just why is he taking care of her in the first place?
Both stories are extremely humorous and include a very cute guy and the sort of 'in charge' girl. The stories twist in different ways but I am always constantly getting the feeling of the opposite story. Both inspired and still inspire me today and I think if you loved one, read the other one.
NOTE: Kaichou wa Maid-sama was made into an anime. I am hoping that Dengeki daisy will be too.
Both are about a perverted guy and a strong woman. The guys have a secret the keep: Kurosaki has to hide that he is Daisy and Usui has to keep Misaki's secret. You don't know much about the past of the guys as well and the girls are both poor, so they resemble each other a lot, but Dengeki Daisy has more drama in it. I recommend both of them, if you liked the other, then you'd probably like the other as well!
great art, awesome storyline, and both are sooooo cute!!! <3 that's really what unites them. they're pretty similar in some ways but storyline-wise they're completely different... so no guarantees, but if you like shoujo romance mangas you'll definitely love both :)
I am sure if you liked this one you will like the other one also. Both are about fantastic love, though maybe Dengeki Daisy has a deeper story in it.
Both manga compliment each other very well. Dengeki Daisy takes a more fluffy and emotional road with some comedy, while Maid Sama takes a comedic and light hearted road with some serious moments.
Yeah I totally agree with this recommendation. Both series are quite similar in many different ways.
both of they main characters either they hero or heroin is just so cool and strong...Their storyline is fantastic and how both of main characters loves each other by protecting the one they loves is so sweet...The heroin also dont cry much yet they also a strong hearted and nice character....the drawing is perfect and it also recommend for those for loves bad boy and brave girl characters..Just read it till the end of chapter and you will love it...
Ouran High School is a prestigious private academy where money and status count for everything. Haruhi Fujioka is a scholarship student at the elite school, and is appalled by the lazy attitude of the rich and powerful students towards their studies. The Host Club is a clear example of this: a group of six attractive and wealthy boys spend their time entertaining the female pupils for a profit. When Haruhi accidentally breaks a ¥8,000,000 vase belonging to the club, they force her to work off her debt as one of the club's members; and to do so, she must masquerade as a boy! Can Haruhi keep her gender a secret from the club's exclusive clients?
The main female characters are poor but they use that as a means of determination in Ouran High School Host Club and Maid-sama! They both have to work undercover while trying to keep it a secret from everyone else. Surrounded by a crazy cast of characters though that is a little hard to accomplish.
These two manga have a gril who just wants to be left alone to their studies but of course that doesn't happen. Misaki has a "perverted outerspace alien" stalking her while Haurni has 6 "rich bastards" stalking her. They are similar because they both have a rich guy(guys) who knows their deepest secrets and in the end become very reliable. Both Misaki and Haruni come form poor families and are top of the class while their boys come from rich families. Usui in maid sama is like all of the hosts combined in ouran but mostly Tamaki. Their names are also similar Takumi (maid sama) and Tamaki (ouran).
What can I say? Both are situated around high schools. Both are Romantic and Comedies. The guys are based off of fairytale princes and are meant to be the female character's literal prince.
They are both popular romantic comedies, big names in the shoujo world. If you like one, it's difficult to come up with a reason why you wouldn't like the other. Both of the heroines are level headed, down to eath hardworking individuals.
With five younger brothers and sisters, Yuki Machida was forced to mature quickly; so as a second year high school student, the girl doesn’t get flustered when it comes to boys. But Yuki still has a thorn in her side: Shou, an arrogant first year who groped her six months ago and is a member of the basketball club she manages. What’s worse, her secret crush Kido recently got a girlfriend, and Shou not only found out about her feelings, he also confessed that he’s falling for her! What’s a girl to do when she starts becoming interested in the boy she loves to hate?
The female main characters are both tsundere, the action take place in a school environement. I find the relationship between the 2 main characters very similar!Hope you enjoy both of these manga!
Both female main characters are tsunderes and the male main characters both are very likeable towards girls in their school and both are very talented in some way. Also, the female main characters are very strict towards boys but they have a soft side and they showed that side to the male main characters. Both main characters met the other in an unexpected way, and both male main characters liked the girls first. Of course, the tsundere girls deny their feeling towards their partners but in the end, their feelings were shown and a new relationship was born.
Generally the main couple in both have similar characters. The FL is very stuborn, stric and denies her feelings for the ML for as long as possible, even though with time they become obvious. The ML on the other hand is very confident, laid back and agressive in pursuing the FL, by constantly being straight forward about his affections toward her.
When Fumino Kaji’s parents died, she and her young brother, Teppei, were ferried from relative to relative. One day when they're finally fed up of being passed around, the pair decide to run away from home. Alone in the world, help arrives from the most unexpected source, Fumino's English teacher, Kazuma, who offers to take them in. Not believing that he means to commit to the idea, Fumino jokingly agrees to the idea but only if he will take her in as his wife and much to her surprise he agrees! Now the three live together with Fumino and Kazuma acting as man and wife in name only, but after falling for each other, the pair must try to act normally at school to ensure that no one discovers their secret.
They both have to deal with high school life. Both of the main guys have a bad family history. They both have funny and cute moments and they are both page turners.
If you love affectionate, protective, sexy men (who always show up at the right time), and shoujo-y, tsundere, adorable girls, you will love these.
They both have a huge secret that only the main characters (and silly side characters) know about. In both, the male characters have issues with their (rich) families. Both share a mainly school setting (with vacations to other places!) Lots of romance! Both of them are cute and good reads!
