Ouran High School is a prestigious private academy where money and status count for everything. Haruhi Fujioka is a scholarship student at the elite school, and is appalled by the lazy attitude of the rich and powerful students towards their studies. The Host Club is a clear example of this: a group of six attractive and wealthy boys spend their time entertaining the female pupils for a profit. When Haruhi accidentally breaks a ¥8,000,000 vase belonging to the club, they force her to work off her debt as one of the club's members; and to do so, she must masquerade as a boy! Can Haruhi keep her gender a secret from the club's exclusive clients?
These manga could be part of a reverse harem comedic enterprise. Ouran Host Club is a lighter manga than La Corda and has a more comedy. Both series have a plethora of characters who express different opinions and views towards the heroine, making the resulting setting magnificent. La Corda takes on a more serious note due to the stress of having to learn how to play the violin.
With a noticeable tan and bleached hair, Momo Adachi is a high school student who is frequently misunderstood by her classmates. She's accused of being a playgirl and is the subject of many rumors, most of which originate from her ‘best friend' Sae who is jealous of Momo due to them having a crush on the same boy. Momo's life only gets worse when Kairi Okayasu, who she once saved from drowning, decides to make her his own. Kairi coming into Momo's life only encourages Sae to spread more rumors about Momo and Kairi while going after Toji herself, creating quite a complicated situation for everyone involved.
Each deals with issues in high school and the attitudes that are faced. There are trials and tribulations that everyone has to go through - facing that daunting situation known as high school. Hino (La Corda) has to prove her skill at playing the violin and Momo (Peach Girl) has to put up with a skimming Sae. Both series are artfully-drawn with exceptional plot detail.
Hinamori Amu is a stylish punk rock girl who is liked and feared by her peers, but there's just one problem: she's actually a shy and quiet girl who can't seem to drop her self-fabricated facade! Out of the eggs pop Ran, Miki and Su, Amu's Guardian Charas; these being represent parts of Amu that she wishes she could be, even allowing Amu to transform into those parts at will! Now, with pressure from the other Guardians (including her crush, Hotori) to join their midst, dark sides of the psyche known as X Eggs to seal, and nefarious forces after a wish-granting egg known as the embryo, Amu's life has officially become more complicated!
La Cordo d'Oro and Shugo Chara have a light feel to them while also drawing in some heavy issues for the heroines. There are little fairies that try and help the heroines realize their own potential and strive to accomplish that and become strong in themselves.
