When Ryouga was a boy, he was the sole survivor of a terrible plane crash; with horror, he watched as the other survivors were eaten by a terrifying monster, healing Ryouga's wounds in the process. As a teenager, Ryouga is haunted by these memories and agrees to go with a stranger to a mysterious school for special people. However, little did Ryouga know that within the school's walls lied a brutal game in which cards are used to summon monsters and obliterate other players. Armed with an exceptionally powerful card known as Death Rex, Ryouga must do everything in his power to win so that he may discover the truth behind his past and accept what fate requires of him to do.
Card games for Chaosic Rune and assorted children's games for Kamisama, turned into violent bloodbaths of anti-humanity, sacrifice, blood, corpses, dead youngsters and more blood, because when you're going for amped up children's games, you turn it bloody and intense. Suspenseful and packed with thrills and hot-blooded action (More so for Chaosic Rune), both take a mundane thing and twist them around into something fast-paced and fun with blood by the bucket loads. Their games may be different but the style and substance will attract fans of either work.
Really, they are bloody.
Students enter a game out of their own freewill, not truly knowing what they're getting into once they're inside. But in there, it's a game of death, survival and blood. Sacrifices have to be made in order to survive and not everyone can be trusted. Violence will ensue as the body count rises, minds will waver, morals will collapse, bonds will form and break while a twisted game begins, formed in the guise of an online game (Darwin's Game) and multiple children's games (Kamisama no Iutoori Ni). Thrills and suspense, action and mystery, blood and cruelty and a game where your life is at stake.
