They are both shoujo highschool romances with lots of romantic conflict and really cute characters! I read Hirunaka no Ryuusei first, but really love Ao Haru Ride too!

Hirunaka no Ryuusei and Ao Haru Ride shares the same feel in a way. No insane drama, slow paced and really allows you to get to know the characters and understand the choices that they make. If you like one, I'm certain you'll like the other.

Both are non typical shoujo that  involve a love triangle with two guys and one girl and throughout the slow paced stories, you can't predict who the heroine would end up with.  You see that the heroine is in love with the "first" guy but then later meets the "second" guy. The situations and events that take part in these story are very alike  and both are worth a read.

Both mangas are created by the same artist, and have the same strong female character. They both realise they are falling slowly in love with an older guy who is close to them, and worries about them.

It has the very same feel of first love, and developing one's feelings and coming of age about them.

It also switches from time to time from the perspective of the female character to that of the male's.

A blunt, quirky girl from the countryside moves into a new living arrangement. Love triangle, a guy with a playful personality, heroine with a straightfoward personality, cute expressions, similar art style
