Both Doubt and Higurashi When They Cry (Watanagashi-hen) have several things in common. Both manga first start off as a simple story about a group of friends having a good time but as the story progresses the main characters are thrust into a situation where they must question their so called friends. Doubt and Higurashi are both psychological horror thrillers that make the reader question what they may have previously thought they knew.

"Ibitsu" and the "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni" series revolve around a victim of circumstance and a crazy yandere. In both, the suspense/creep factor is high. Plus, plenty of forms of torture are used in both (many of them being quite imaginative). Both are great horror manga.
