Does The Flower Blossom?

Sakurai Kazuaki. At age 38, he's single, overworked, and starting to feel a bit miserable about his life. One day a young college guy at a train station bumps into Sakurai and wreks his magazine. Fate — or coincidence — has it, Minagawa happens to own the same magazine at home, and instead of apologizing for the damaged item, he invites Sakurai to his house and replaces it with his copy. "What an arrogant young kid he is!" Sakurai dislikes him immediately. Yet, despite feeling annoyed and frustrated by Minagawa's rude and arrogant behavior, Sakurai soon finds himself a frequent visitor of the secluded household...

If you expect to see pages and pages of senseless hot yaoi sex, go read Datte Kare wa Mao-sama ga Kirai. This isn't for you. This manga has a lot, a lot of plot. It focuses mostly on the development of the relationship, how they fall in love, how they come together, how they get through obstacles. It has a lot of back stories and even side stories. It shows how the characters who were practically dead inside come to life little by little because of their meeting. I absolutely loved this and I would feel butterflies in my stomach on certain scenes. I don't even know if any manga has ever managed to make me feel that before. Super happy and excited yes, but butterflies? I'm not so sure. I know some tv shows with real people have made me feel that way but not a manga. It's so sweet and beautiful.  The not so good would be that sometimes the main plot is like at a climax and then it suddenly changes to the side story for a bit before coming back to the main story. The narration is a bit irritating. Another thing is, the lack of sex. Yes, yes, this is more like a romance instead of yaoi, so it focuses more on the story instead and I LOVE it for it, but I honestly feel they could've given us a little tiny bit more. Like they could've shown us a complete sex session, but no, they cut it off. Like yeah, they're doing it, so we're done. It also lacks a bit of cute couple moments. It does shows us a lot of sweet kisses, hand holding and hugs, but I would've liked a bit more, like for example them cuddling in bed or them sleeping together, waking up next to each other. And finally the ending is a bit mediocre. It feels rushed. They took a lot of time going through a bunch of details and backstories but in the end they just seem to have summed it up and be done with it. I think they could've taken their time and spreaded it out some more. Given us more details and at the same time given us some more cute moments while at it All in all, I loved it. There were parts where it was a bit frustrating because of the narration and the ending isn't the best, but I loved it. A yaoi manga that made me feel butterflies. Too sweet
