Hello fellow...manga readers? Yup. It's RandomRedneck, branching out into reviewing a manga for once. And for my first manga review, I'll be offering my opinion on Gokujou Drops. Why? Why not? Let us begin shall we? STORY I'll be honest, this thing is a little thin on the plot. But it goes as such. Komari has made a deal with her father that she can live on her own in the city. The hitch being she has to live in a dorm room. There aren't any left (Shocker huh?) So the dorm office chick tells her to go check out the Haraiso Yakata, the dorm for all the elite chicks, and tells her she can stay there if one of its members sponsors her. When she gets there, she slips, conks her head, wakes to see a pretty girl standing above her, and becomes said girls (Yukio) Uke (Yaoi term. Actually found this thing thanks to the article on TvTropes. It basically means she's the bitch) in about 2 pages. From there, it's a typical schoolgirl lesbian romance thing. Again, this thing isn't plot heavy. ART Art is alright I guess. Nothing that's gonna wow you. It gets a higher score thanks to the several scenes of Yuri goodness. Yeah, it gets a higher mark because I'm a perv. Deal with it. CHARACTERS Like any typical schoolgirl yuri thing, we have the two typical main characters. The shy, stumbling over her words girl (Komari) and the emotionally distant pretty girl she's crushing on. (Yukio) Hmm, rich Ojou with the last name Himemiya? If you get that reference, mazel tov. The rest of the characters basically just exist to frequently molest Komari. The only other members that made an imprint on me were the twins. Why? Read and find out. OVERALL Need a quick (it's only 3 issues) manga with some frequent amounts of Yuri goodness, that isn't real plot heavy? Check out Gokujou Drops. You won't be sorry. Thank you. Yours truly. I just finished Gokujou Drops, and I have to say that I loved it! Very cute, funny, and romantic. Story: It wasn't a very complex, intricate story line, but it was really sweet. I really enjoyed reading it because it seemed to flow well and the relationship between Yukio-chan and Komari-chan was well described. The story itself wasn't very deep or original, but the characters and situations really capture what it means to be in love and to have friendship. Art: I liked the art, it wasn't amazing, but it was cute which seemed to go well with the story and setting. Characters: I loved the characters in this manga. I usually don't like characters like Komari (simple, ditzy girls), but I actually found myself cheering her on through the story. She turned out to be a very likable protagonist in my opinion. Yukio seems dull at first, but I think she starts to grow throughout the story. You learn more about her past and see different sides of her as the story progresses, helping to make her another excellent character. The other characters in the Harioso Yukata (the dorm the elite students stay at) were also entertaining.

Ok, I don't feel the need to do an extensive review on this, so each section will simply be 3 statements reflecting them. Story: (4/10) Girl moves into all-girl dorm. Gets semi-raped by several different people many times. Falls in love with girl, the end. Art: (5/10) Barely able to differentiate one area from another. There are only roughly 5 settings(dorm, school picnic table, classroom, outside of school, love interest's house). Damn good at drawing nipples. Characters: (4/10) Main girl likes girls. Other girls like girls. Girls like sex and don't even recognize the difference between normal and incest. Overall: (4.5/10) School stuff happens. Lesbo stuff happens. If you like yuri, go for it.
