Kodocha: Sana's Stage

Kodocha: Sana's Stage

11 year-old Sana Kurata is a positive, upbeat child actress with a rather odd life. She was adopted as a baby by an eccentric novelist who wears a live squirrel in her hair, her acting career is managed by a (former) homeless man who Sana unabashedly claims is her "pimp", and at school her teacher has completely lost control of her classroom due to a group of blackmailing bullies led by "demon child" Akito Hayama. With her whole class in danger of failing, Sana decides she's had enough of Akito's nonsense at school and challenges him. The whole school is ready for a showdown as these strong personalities collide, but as the two very different kids learn more about each other, something unexpected happens. Is it possible for sworn enemies to become fast friends?

Even though Gakuen Alice is a fantasy and Kodomo no Omocha is about actors, these two mangas are very similar..they both have the same type of easy-going heroine who is actually very strong and a hero who has a hard life which the heroine makes better ^^Both are funny and silly but with serious context and they shows the power of love and friendship and not giving up.

Kodomo no Omocha is finished already and Gakuen Alice is still ongoing, if u liked one u will surely like another one too.

Chiara Chiara says...

Both animes are about girls who have a kind of problem with some of their classmates (who are boys in both cases) and Sana's and Mikan's personalities are quite similar even though Mikan is more like a crying baby and Sana has a huge ego - they are both fighters and do everything to change their worlds.

Sapioa Sapioa says...

They are similar, both take place in a school and then in the end have one person go somewhere but gakuen alice is probably a bit darker than sana's stage.

KuroVera KuroVera says...

The main characters give off the same feeling, both airheads with surprisingly strong wills that endear them to others.

Both series are about a girl who enters a school for people with special talents. Both girls have trouble fitting in with the class, and have to prove they are worthy to be there. Both girls are eventually able to make true friends and prove their ability through doing what they do best.

deideiblueeyez deideiblueeyez says...

While Kitchen Princess is about cooking, there are some similarities to Gakuen Alice that make both enjoyable reads. Both main leads are cheery innocent girls who always look on the bright side of things and truly want to see the good in everyone. Also, there are two male love/friendship interests for her that are very close to each other as best friends in their own right; some jealous girls that want to tear her down due to her popularity with said boys; a mysterious and slightly threatening higher power that seems to be the cause of the boys' suffering; and some heavy themes that are not played so tragically that it can't be enjoyed by a younger audience around 10-13 years old.

YuiYui YuiYui says...

Both are really good series for a start, both are about a girl who enters a school which was made for people with special talents. Also they are both searching for one thing or another Mikan is looking for Hotaru and Najika is looking for her flan prince so already the main characters are pretty similar. So if you want something light and you liked one of these manga then you should like the other.

killikate killikate says...

If you like Skip Beat! or Gakuen Alice you would like the other because both have strong, erratic female leads who enter new enviorments, for reasons that seem silly but become more serious and inthralling as the series continues. Both have complicating love interests and profuse situations.

deideiblueeyez deideiblueeyez says...

Both main characters are young ladies (Mikan in Gakuen Alice being grade schooler age) who have fiery spirit and a "never say never!" attitude which helps them achieve the near-impossible when everyone is counting them out. They quickly learn to harbor friendships and their personalities ultimately attract others to them. Plus, both have something unique about them that's different from others in an already diverse world they live in (Mogami's acting world and Mikan's Alice world).

If you enjoy one, give the other a shot. Both are full of comedy, romance, and adventure that will leave you rooting for the main lead and her friends as they strive achieve their dreams.

I love skip beat. It's funny, original, and unpredictable - which, lets face it, is rare in shoujo. Gakuen Alice, while slightly more predictable, also has a wonderful leading couple. It's super cute, full of magic (who doesnt like magic?), and can still be serious. The art for both mangas rock and the plots are compelling.

Almamatotogoo Almamatotogoo says...

If you read Nekota no Koto ga Ki ni Natte Shikatanai, you'd enjoy Gakuen Alice - both the manga and anime version. Both about romance around a young age with innocent and lovable characters. The main female protagonists are both entering new schools and become popular around the student body because of their unique and kind personalities. Only major difference would be that Gakuen Alice contains the supernatural genre and contains more drama - especially in the manga. However, both have some good laughs here and there 👍.

Shoujo27 Shoujo27 says...

These 2 mangas take place in elementary school : the main character is a bubbly girl, while the male lead is cool and not so talkative, that's why there are lots of funny situations.

The stories are similar too, the girl is interested in the male lead and wants to know him better. Nekota no Koto is still less serious than Gakuen Alice.

purplehearty purplehearty says...

There younger kiddos, the girl falls in love with the guys personality, clingy in a cute way if that makes sence.

If you liked Gakuen Alice, then you will also like Fruits Basket. Fruits Basket has quite a few similarities to Gakuen Alice, but a few of the main ones are...

Lovable Character: Fruits Basket main character, Tohru, is very similar to Gakuen Alice main character, Mikan. Both of the characters have a personality, that makes (mostly) all of the others characters not help but love them, and fall for their cheerful, sunny dispositions.

Clueless: For both Gakuen Alice and Fruits Basket, the main charcters are clueless about themselves loving a boy, and that boy loving them back. Only till later on in the manga, do Tohru (and Mikan) realize their true feelings.

Tragedy: Yes, as in Gakuen Alice there is some tragedy... There is also tragedy in Fruits Basket. The tragedy that occurs both happens with the different parents of Mikan and Tohru. (Death). But the tragedy that happens, only makes you chrish the stroy even more. You are able to feel the charcters emotions even more.

These are only a few of the similarities, but there are many more. If you loved Gakuen Alice, you should definitely read Fruits Basket.
