If you liked the Fairy Tail manga, the Anime-Planet community thinks you'd like:
Magic is the key theme connecting both Mangas, but there's also loads of humor packed up with series of adventures. One thing that I also find similar in Magico and FairyTail is the good-hearted storytelling which makes this definitely oriented for kids but also fun for teens and adults. Thumbs up for the gorgeous universes and artwork created by the mangakas.
Shiki is a young, enthusiastic and rowdy monster hunter who is just starting out. But while most hunters belong to a single guild and only venture into specified hunting territories, Shiki is different. Unlike others, he bears the seal of the forbidden hunter, and as such he only has one goal: to defeat the Forbidden Dragon of Light, Miogaruna. Now, Shiki is teaming up with the reluctant and icy Irie in order to hunt down this legendary beast, but with other powerful hunters seeking to harm him, and countless other monsters in his path, the journey to find Miogurana won’t be straightforward.
Hiro Mashima's shounen series tend to have similar drawing styles, plots and, most of all, characters, most of whom with very similar personalities. So, if you enjoyed Fairy Tail, next time you're waiting for a new volume to come out, you may want to give Monster Hunter Orage a try, if you're looking for a quick and fairly pleasant read starring characters and plot not all too unfamiliar to the general Fairy Tail crowd.
Once, the ninja village of Konohagakure was attacked by an evil nine-tailed fox spirit. This demon slaughtered many people until the leader of Konohagakure, the 4th Hokage, sacrificed his life to seal the fox inside a newborn child - Naruto Uzumaki. Now, twelve years later, Naruto is a member of the Ninja Academy; but due to his past Naruto is shunned by the rest of the village, and since he has no friends or family he plays the part of class idiot to get attention. However, he is determined to gain respect by becoming the next Hokage - the most powerful shinobi in the village. With his apparent lack of abilities, will Naruto be able to realize his goal through determination alone?
Do characters have auras? If so, the title character Naruto of (obviously) Naruto and lead character Natsu from Fairy Tail seem to have very nearly the same aura. Not personalities, mind you, though those are similar enough, but that indescribable quality that surrounds a person. Impossibly high energy, justice-seeking, loyal friends, somewhat stupid walking-disasters...yet somehow still loveable. If you can't get enough of that kind of guy, you won't get enough of Fairy Tail or Naruto.
In the ancient past, a highly-intelligent and technologically-advanced civilization was pushed to extinction, leaving behind relics known as O-Parts. These mysterious items are only usable by a select type of beings known as O-Parts Tacticians, and give their users powerful abilities. Jio is a boy who, as a child, was driven out of his village after being accused of killing his best friend Jin's parents. Since then, he underwent training with a lone wolf named Zero and now is on a quest to conquer the world! One day, Jin runs across a girl and saves her from a monster. Her name is Ruby Crescent, and she's a treasure hunter in search of O-Parts. Together, the two travel the land, encountering fierce organizations, old enemies and new friends. But more importantly, they slowly learn more about their pasts, including the discovery that Jin harbors a dark secret: he holds within him the power of Satan, the ultimate evil!
Admittedly, Fairy Tail and O-Parts Hunter don't have much in common, plot-wise. But both are very similar shounen titles with a hefty sense of adventure and tons of action. They both read very quickly and will definitely appeal to the same audience!
In a bizarre fantasy world, students known as meisters are trained at the illustrious Shinigami Weapon Meister University; but the tools they wield are no ordinary weapons! Each meister is paired with a human-like being who can transform into a weapon at will; and after defeating a pre-kishin - a human whose soul has darkened - the weapon eats the soul within it. A meister's ultimate goal is to collect ninety-nine pre-kishin souls and one of a witch so that his or her partner will become an all-powerful Death Scythe. Maka and her partner Soul Eater; Assassin Black Star and his partner Demon Blade Tsubaki; and Shinigami's son Death the Kid and his partners the Demon Twin Pistol Thompson Sisters each vie for their ultimate goal, but plenty of challenges and adventures lie in their way!
If you liked Fairy Tale or Soul Eater, the other would most certainly be worth a read because they both have the same comedic style. In both mangas, there are somewhat extreme characters interacting in highly amusing ways. Other than that, the overall comedic tone is very similar.
