Action packed gore and violence are seen in High School of the Dead and Elfen Lied.  Each series involving high school aged people taking on some element of the undead or supernatural.  Both series with graphic scenes of the gore and ecchi nature for some entertainment.

Taking violence and turning it into a thing of beauty is quite a skill that is achieved by both Elfen Lied and Le Portrait de Petit Cossette.  These two series are filled with dark looming undertones mixed with cute, innocent looking girls.

Rosario to Vampire and Elfen Lied, although seemingly unrelated the personalities between Lucy and Nyuu and Mako’s vampire form and human form have similarities in the characteristics that each portray. The transformation has a more mature attitude and seems to be more capable all around while untransformed there is an innocent girl in place that relies on others for help.
