Dokuhime and Godchild have a similar, dark atmosphere and beautiful hair and dresses. While Dokuhime is set in the kings and queens time, Godchild is set during the 1800s of the streets of London. Both have poisons as a subject of their stories. Dokuhime is about a girl named Belladonna whose merest touch, tears, or kiss could kill any living thing. Earl Cain in Godchild is a collector of poisons and who solves the mysteries that seem to find their way into his lap wherever he goes. The art is similar and melancholic, with suffering of the main characters of never quite acquiring what they desire the most: a secure, wholesome love of someone else with no threats or danger. If you like one, you'll surely like the other.
