Clannad and H2O both are cute school romances or so they appear to be. In each there is a darker side to them with a twist of the characters different experiences. Both are clearly harem manga with the girls vying for the main guy’s attention.
In both Kanon and Clannad the main guy in each series is trying to help out all of the girls around him. He is also kind of a smart alick with a good sense of humor that says funny things to the people around him and can always make anyone laugh.
In Clannad and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya the main characters are bored and want to make a club. They also both have supernatural aspects to them and a bunch of crazy situations, with comical moments intertwined.
