Twittering Birds Never Fly

The sexually masochistic yakuza boss, Yashiro, isn't the type to warm up to others easily. But when Chikara Doumeki, his newly hired bodyguard, catches his interest, he reconsiders his "hands-off" policy with subordinates. As Yashiro's invitations fail, the yakuza boss finds out his bodyguard has a very personal reason for staying at arm's length.

Both Acid Town and Twittering Birds are top notch yakuza-themed BL manga, that care as much about the actual plot as about the boys lovin'. Characters are dealing with themselves, trying to come to terms with their pasts all while living in a tough and unforgiving world. Although they differ slightly in tone and sexual content (Twittering Birds having somewhat more comedy and a lot more explicit scenes), they're absolute must-reads of the genre. If you felt engrossed by the setting and character exploration of either of these manga, be sure to check out the other!

Shiro, a laid-back and absentmindedly seductive umbrella craftsman, is (surprisingly) a close friend of Koujirou, a hot-blooded young police officer who stands against all things undisciplined. With their mutual knack for attracting trouble, the pair soon find themselves involved in a bloody and erotic thrill-ride in their off-kilter town full of equally off-kilter people.

It's thrilling to read about all the secrets of the characters and their backstorys and in which way they influence their actual life. Once I begun reading, I couldn't stop till the actual chapter.

It's a great thought-out story with great characters. Shonen-Ai in a appropiate and story pushing way.

Unfortunately the Chapters take a long time to come out...
