All Riiko Izawa wants is a boyfriend, but she has been rejected left and right by every guy she has ever liked. In a moment of desperation, she orders a special "Nightly Lover" figure from a website, and the next day, a extremely attractive naked man is delivered to her doorstep! Night, as Riiko names him, is the perfect boyfriend; he's sexy, smart, athletic, and is a gourmet cook. There's just one problem: he cost $1,000,000! Riiko can't let anyone know that Night is a doll, even though he knows almost nothing about humans. Can she find a way to pay for Night while keeping him a secret from her childhood friend Soshi next door?
They both are very alike because the girl happens to order something without really understanding what it really was. Their feelings change and grows. Santa Claus Panic is good for a short sweet story, while Absolute Boyfriend is good for more drama added on.
Two very touching stories about love between a girl and.. well, i'd call them 'strange boys' - because in Absolute Boyfriend main male character isn't even a human, and in Tonari no Shugoshin - he's a person from ancient legends.
But love can do anything. Or almost anything. Mangas are drawn by different mangakas, but they're pretty supplement each other. Very kawaii reading, for sure. I think you'd like them both.
Both manga are based around the 1 girl, 2 guys love triangle deal. and both manga involve a fair amount of seduction on the part of the male leads. The story lines are completely different, but the romantic aspect has a similar 'feel' in my opinion. If you liked one, I would definately recommend you try the other.
