This manga is an absolute must read! Although you may not like the main guy in the beginning for his looks, he begins to get cuter as the female protagonist "tames" him. Both manga are similar in that the guy must be 'taught' some things.

Both manga are based around the 1 girl, 2 guys love triangle deal. and both manga involve a fair amount of seduction on the part of the male leads. The story lines are completely different, but the romantic aspect has a similar 'feel' in my opinion. If you liked one, I would definately recommend you try the other.

If you liked Hana-Kimi, you're also likely to enjoy Absolute Boyfriend. These two series are both romance-based shoujo, with elements of school life as a strong contextualising component in both - especially when anchoring the conflicts and intrigues of the romantic journeys. Tones of comedy and drama are also common to both.

Where Hana-Kimi has gender-bending between the two central characters as the main point of friction for the story, Absolute Boyfriend has the android as the main love interest. In this way, both are shoujo romances with hefty, fresh twists that challenge both sexuality and identity for teenage high school students in their disctinct ways.

This recommendation works both ways, because the thematic interplay is so keenly fresh and disctinct between both, that their individuality and their parallels would just as easily travel in either direction for these titles.

If you liked reading Absolute Boyfriend, then you might like Ai-Ren. Ai-Ren is probably not a very popular manga but I stumble upon this manga when I was browsing on an online manga website.

I recommend Ai-Ren because both Absolute Boyfriend and Ai-Ren have a similar plot. Both of the stories talks about having an artificial human to be with them for a special purpose. And, later on develop a deeper feelings for that artificial human. Even though both stories are similar in some ways, but at the same time, both stories have differences, too.
