#3 here too, but the color of the rose could fit the rest better. The part with Krähe and the white wings embracing Tutu is perfect, though.

It's number three for me as well seems to flow the best.

Just thought I would let the artists know what I think. Not trying to get anyone down just trying to point some things out that can be helpful.

Overall it is a nice sig but there are a few things I thought could have been improved. This is only my personal opinion you don't have to take it to serious. I liked the set up and the renders you chose this was probably my second choice. What I found that I thought could use a little attention is the differing sharpness and quality of your renders. I know it can be hard to find the set of renders you want all the same general quality but for me the wording in the back was a pretty low quality render compared to the other two. There was what looked to be random spots of blurring or low quality spots in the render itself as well. Although getting contrast and having the focal point stand out to some extent is a good way of compiling a eye pleasing sig having a non focal render the only one seeming blurred or lower quality brings away from the characters themselves and the rest of the piece overall. Although the combination was great there was little or no apparent attempt to blend or mesh the renders together to soften the edges and make the piece seem like a whole instead of a simple combination of parts. Toss in multiple layers of each render with a bit of blurs and color masks and it would flow allot better and overall improve the piece use different kinds of brushes and different settings with blur to get different kinds of effects out of the renders there are allot of interesting things you can get by just simply going over a layer copy of a render with a brush and the blur tool. Adding different colors to that and you can make some really nice things while still making the piece come together.

This one was to me seemed to either have greatly varying quality renders or where modified with filters. The background seems like a simple high quality planet CG as well as can be said about the pillars in comparison to the characters. The characters models seemed to greatly sway between over blurred or what seemed to be over sharpened. The farthest character features are blurred while her outline seems sharp. Uneven focus is another great way of drawing or fading attention from an area or detail, but with this is makes the character hard to be recognized while still giving it a attention drawing presence. I also see a bit of this in the next character though she is still easily told apart her upper half and right side seem blurred while her lower and left side seem sharpened. With the last and closest character she seems a little to sharp her hair lines being extremely prominent. This is also made more apparent with the lower quality of the render. Along with that I fail to see any effort into tying the piece together by means of color or any kind of blending methods. I suggest more layers with more then just renders add brushes. Differ the brushes each layer add different filters and take advantage of the opacity of the layers you create. Along with that are the layer types that can be combined and swapped around for some interesting results.

Yes even three gets the treatment XD. I chose this one because altogether it seemed to flow the best out of the three. Overall this is a rather pleasing sig and is the best of the three in my opinion. Although it is put together nicely other then the rose the brightness of the background make it nearly non existent. In contrast of the rose and the characters there is no real backdrop to the sig. Even part of the character renders is lost in the background without dimming the image I could not easily pick the wings out from the background. Overall the only real problem I see is that the background was over brightened and is made nearly worthless as the features of the backdrop are to difficult to pick out even when looked at. By dropping the brightness of the background and lighting it around the character renders slightly you can keep the attention on the render while giving the background meaning. Either keeping the wings as bright as they are or darkening them with the background will give the render more presence while keeping the overall flow and balance.

haha, actually i didn't mess with the characters at all, i cut them out of an animation cell directly. i had a very hard time finding any kind of inspiration for this contest, and by the time i was finished with the piece i was thinking more along the lines of "eh, whatever. fuck it."
