Ohhh that a smart one not.If you did that the img would shift up in the to the top and then strech out reducing the quality.

Don't be silly. Of course you'd have to add space before using it to generate an AP stats sig. Better yet, have submitters add it beforehand. But then some would rather use the whole 130 pixels to make the naked background look better during the vote, as Drahken demonstrated. Which I think is what we have now.

because then we wouldn't put these up in the official set of sigs. we want the images to look full (and the bars are added by our tool later). entries submitted with the bars, or with blank spots instead of the bars, are not allowed.

i think people here are smart enough to account for the fact that bars will be there - the sigs all look fine to me.

i do agree with drahken though that this week's stuff doesn't mostly fit the theme for me... i expect many mahou shoujo characters, little girls, or cute mascots. i voted for 4 since it's the main one that i think fits the theme.

As I said, those are not the best examples, and as far as I see the exception. When choosing my background I went through almost a hundred from the forum, and most didn't work well with bars. So I thought I'd ask if other people feel the same.

The point here is that each sig that is submitted look good and get the wotes they deserve.
If youre thinking about the bars, you could just add them and make a pic that fits and remove them and then submitt the sig without the bars.
But some people may use the sigs for other things to so Im fine with it.
We are all woting on the best sig, and shouldent think how it look with the borders.

This week has gotten pretty heated! Here's my two cents:

I was surprised by the entries this week. I was expecting a lot more mascot characters, but everyone has their own definition of "cute" so it doesn't really bother me.

As far as the whole "bars" things goes, every time I make a sig I check with a cut out to make sure major elements aren't covered up. I can understand why people get upset when a sig is totally ruined by covering up a major part of the design when you actually try to use it. This doesn't only happen with the bars, the anime stats can cover things up too. The reason someone might find it "ugly" is just because it does change the whole look when the bars and stats are on it. It just takes getting used to.

I also agree with the statement that some people make a signature in the forums that doesn't use the template or stats over it. They should be free to do so.

To be honest i think most sigs look fine with the bars through them, it dosnt noramaly cut off that much, also imagine how small some of the images would have to be to fit on 500 x 97 as you said. And if you were to post a comment about this size and bars prob whatever, surely a more tactful place to put the comment would not be somewhere where you are going to insult 8 peoples hard work.

And on a final note the signiture is there to mark your indivuality of your post make it look prety etc etc. Not to be the greatest piece of modern art in history, so im realy not bothered if its slightly worse then it is without the bars.

I didn't realise people thought my sigs were ugly. Guess I'll keep them to myself in future....
