He means Ryuma, the dead samurai from the Wano country who fought against Zoro in Thriller Bark.
Oda drew the guy in one of his early one-shot stories, when he was alive and all. You can find it in the Wanted! compilation volume. (Badass pic of living Ryuma)

That chapter cover.
Heh, sucks to be Vergo. And man, cliffhanger right before the first Gum-Gum Elephant Bazooka :I On a side note, Usopp's moment this chapter was great. The old Usopp would have taken their distraction as a chance to go elsewhere, but this time he stands up to the fucking plate with full confidence in defending his captain against like 20+ guys all gunning for him. Boss.

MY DNA IS MADE UP OF ANIME
|
I can envision Kinemon becoming part of the crew, but that would probably be(if it happens at all) after their next adventure, when the character will have grown on us, similarly to how we got the entire Water 7/Enies lobby arc to grow attached to Franky. And even after that I originally didn't think adding him to the crew would be so good, yet that was mostly me just being "conservative" about the current crew size at the time. Now I think of him as essential just with what he adds as a character alone.
I'm fine with the crew size increasing with new characters, as long as Oda makes sure to give some time to make them endearing and special, rather than simply tacked-on. I also see it as important as to preserve my suspension of disbelief. Suspending disbelief is really easy for this series, but they are going to be going up against some real big shots from now on. Even if they have become much stronger, I'm going to find it boring after a few years of the exact same crew again and again pwning their opponents. (Strong World was awesome, but we all found the final victory a bit odd) The only other alternative is "convenient allies" every time they're facing more of a challenge, which may easily result in too many tacked-on secondary characters. It's been fine so far, but there's a limit to how many mini-armies I'm going to accept that are apparently on standby for every damned boss fight. And most of the previous ones came with new crew members included to the story(Franky, Brook, Jinbe). We may be satisfied now, but the exact same crew with the main character development complete for every single one, for the next decade or so is eventually going to seem stale. And as far as crew goes, the only ones who serve vital roles on a ship are Nami, Franky and Chopper, so I don't really mind if future members don't serve a role that is strictly needed for the ship to run like clockwork, or that are similar to that of other characters, as long as their characters are good additions. Hell, Kinemon already has an amusing dynamic going on with Brook. And as fun as I think Brook is, he's kind of been what Usopp was, relationship-wise, before Chopper joined the crew. He's kind of "just there". I'm not saying that I want him to be part of the crew, not yet at least. I'm just saying that I really won't mind if he does join, as long as Oda makes sure to make him a character we'll grow more attached to first. I'd protest if Luffy immediately demands him to become part of the crew the moment they depart from Punk Hazard, but I don't think that will happen. I can imagine Luffy asking, but Kinemon rejecting the offer, and then an arc or two later either be asked again or that he'll request to join himself. At least with that scenario, readers won't be too shocked if he eventually does join. Luffy did ask his ass to join the crew though... ![]() ------------------------------- Otherwise, this was an awesometacular chapter. And it actually kinda does seem like Doflamingo is protecting Baby 5 now that we know what she's seeking revenge for... ![]() Also, yeah, Kinemon will probably survive, as I found that scene so comical that I started laughing my ass off when Brook came running.
