With Hajime no Ippo at 984, Conan (Case Closed) at 834, and One Piece at 684, we'd have to see Conan end very soon (not likely), and One Piece continue for another 3 years longer (that being the head start Conan has over it). Now OP I can see going for another 5-9 years easily, so it passing CC could be a possibility in the distant future, however that depends on when CC will end, I mean Aoyama has to run out of ideas eventually. IIRC Oda said OP was at the halfway point around chapter 600...though I could be wrong.

No matter the outcome, One Piece for years to come sounds pretty awesome, If I have kids, I'll probably try to get them into it as well, because you know, all good parents raise their kids on anime & manga

I don't see one piece going on for more than 2 more years. The end is is sight.

2 years averages out to around 104 chapters, give or take, right?

How do you think we'll be able to find out about Vegapunk, Law's crew, what Dragon's doing, Luffy's fight with Big Mom, Luffy meeting Shanks, Straw Hats running into each of the Marine Admirals, the corruption with Doflamingo, see what's up with the other 2 Emperors, and a final showdown that's supposed to surpass the Summit War along with a bunch of other plot threads I can't think of at the moment within just a 100 chapters or so?

Given that we've barely scratched the surface of the second half there is no way that One Piece will be wrapping up in two year. Oda knows what he wants the end to be but he's always coming up with new ideas and concepts to add to the story. Taking that into account and just the sheer amount of stuff that is left to do One Piece could easily be going for the next six years or more and still easily match or exceed it's current quality. One Piece has done nothing but get better with time and as long as that trend continues I don't think anyone is going to be looking forward to the end of it any time soon.

No, Fargo pretty objectively pointed out that it is impossible for One Piece to end the way Oda wants it to in a mere two years.
Unless Oda kicks the bucket or something that isn't happening. (and in that case, One Piece technically would never be concluded)
In two years we'll probably be at the end of whatever the next arc is.
For measure: Skypiea lasted around 8 volumes.
So in two years, One Piece would produce a "mere" ten more volumes.

More reasonable guesses for when it will end lays around 8-15 years.

Anybody else kinda dread the ending of One Piece not just because the series would end, but because the mystery would be over too? And chances are, spoilers would be all over the place so plenty newcomers picking up the series would go into the series possibly with the ending spoiled.
Kinda like the Whitebeard arc. How many newcomers don't you think have gotten it spoiled that
dies?
It removes a lot of the impact.
On the other hand, the series will be so long by that point that not just any idiot is going to spoil it.
Hell, I don't even know how freaking DragonBall ends(GT).
So I guess that for future readers a lot of the sense of adventure is going to be somewhat diluted.

The second half of the universe has just started developing, there's more characters to interact with than ever, more villains than ever, more overarching plotlines than ever, more backstories to fill in than ever, more awesome fights to be had than ever... and you think it's ending in two years?

Whatever you're smoking must be some strong shit, brah.
