Oda himself admitted that he had prepared the series to last for only 5 years (it's been over 10 years now) and that he had already written the ending.

How the story changes, including how the "oh so repetitive and brings nothing new to the table" arcs impacts the story? How characters develops?
Tell me, because it seems to me that you got your panties in a twist over people responding to you, and not telling you that your shit smells like fresh caramels.
I doubt you've put up with soon 700 chapters of a show you find gruelingly repetitive and stale for the hell of it, and that you're now actually just throwing a fit and try to get to us somehow by being increasingly extreme in your opinion of the series.

What are the odds this dragon joins the crew as a second "pet/Chopper"? Oh, I would love that so much. Probably not because Oda has his (I think) 11 person crew, roughly sketched and I never saw a dragon.

Having just completed a massive 200 chapter One Piece catch up I am both happy that be able to join the discussion each week and sad that I now have only one new chapter to read each week.

Punk Hazard has really lived up to my high expectations after hearing how awesome everyone kept saying it was. That combined with the anime's current sluggish pacing really motivated me to catch up. And after reading so many chapters in a row I still find it amazing that Oda is so overflowing with ideas that he has to stuff as much content as he can into each chapter. There is so much going on in every chapter managing to follow several different threads without ever becoming confusing. After so much of the minimalist approach of Bleach that can barely manga to focus on one thing at a time it's quite refreshing to read something with an author that can actually juggle the plot threads he's set up.

After the Fishman Island arc, which while good, felt more like a side story that filled in a bit more information on the vast world of One Piece and it's history, this arc feels much more connected to the overall story. I was pretty happy to have Law show up as I always wanted to see more of him. I loved the whole body switching section of this arc as that was hilarious.

My only complaint about the arc would be Ceasar Clown isn't that great of a villain but even that got assuaged when Vergo entered the story and just started kicking ass with food stuck to his face no less. Forgetful bastard just owned Law and I'm loving him versus Smoker.
