Off topic as hell but what part of Argentina? I've always wanted to visit, they named the Buenos Aires Airport after one of my great uncles or something and my family has a lot of stories of visits and stuff.

I probably would've had a similar amount myself, unfortunately regular stores tend to not be so interested in making sure new volumes get there.
I would have become a proper One Piece fan way sooner if they hadn't discontinued it.
One moment it was the beginning of Alabasta, then they later have the volumes with Ernies Lobby. (though by then I had already watched the show)

That was expected, yet unexpected.

So Luffy accepts the alliance, though it is made perfectly clear by everyone else that his definition of "alliance" is different than Law's.
And Law's face when they try to tie Chopper onto him is priceless!
The question now though is who that Emperor is. I don't really see any reason for Oda to hide it from us if it is Big mom or that other faceless shithead, so my first instinctive guess is that it's actually Shanks. However, this makes me wonder why Luffy would accept so happily.
I can imagine Luffy wanting to not only meet Shanks and and return the hat, but also show him how strong he's become by trying to overcome him in battle or something. However, I can't imagine Luffy wanting to do such a thing in any other way than alone.
So my hypothesis is that Oda made this vague like that intentionally to make us think it is Shanks that is the target, but that it is actually one of the other emperors, and that Luffy looks so cheery because it isn't Shanks that is the target.
If this turns out to be so, hats off to Oda, as I bet he'll be surprising most people.
Hell, I'm probably wrong, and the truth turns out to be more surprising.

Awesome chapter in all the freaking fronts and also some hilarious bits.

Currently loving this arc. Hell, it's a transition arc for the New World's main beef and it still is damn interesting in its own.

I think

Oda didn't put that much thought in the non-revelation of the Emperor they'll be fighting and it'll be Big Mom after all. If it was Shanks he'd stay serious as he was before knowing who the Emperor was and if it were Kaidou he'd have gone ''who's that again? o.o'', knowing Luffy. Things would have also turned out more serious if Law was talking about Blackbeard. So, it's gotta be Big Mom and the non-revelation would be there just to give rise to questions and theorizing, the way I see it. Although I agree with BB that most of Luffy's cheerfulness at that moment was due to knowing it was not Shanks.

Now that I think of it... did we ever get to see Big Mom opening up that huge-ass bomb they sent along by mistake? No, right?

This chapter kicked ass. Torturing Law was mad lulzy and same with Nami being in Sanji's body now.
I have no idea who the Emperor is really, but I guess Big Mom's the most likely.

This arc's going swimmingly and I bet it'll continue to impress.
