After 20 chapters Byakuya finally dies. Probably of embarrassment after how badly his character has been raped by his creator.

Yeah, about the rest of it...I have no fucking clue. I could come up with a bunch of half baked theories, but Bleach isn't worth it so I'm just going to say that Ichigo and Ishida did the fusion dance and Kubo was too lazy to draw a new form so it just looked like Ichigo. But really nothing excuses this most random of asspulls.

Grrrreeeeat. Kubo is going to make Squad 0 and the Soul King the real bad guys as a plot twist. My guess would be Aizen meant to say: Child of shinigami and a quincy. Maybe Ichigo was engineered just to fight the Soul King sooooooooo he's the lame version of the Kwisatz Haderach (Dune).

Also this chapter and the last one could have easily been combined into one, it wouldn't have made anything more palatable but it would have gotten more bullshit onto paper at the same time.
