Nah, I pretty much saw this coming.
I didn't mind this chapter.(and Sasuke mostly kept his mouth shut)

My main question I would pose is... do you think Kishi thought that far ahead with the Shinigami? Like, early in the series he established that the Hokage's were basically pooled within it's stomach. I wonder if he just came up with the whole, breaking their souls free from it's stomach that early or if it was just kinda recent.

Another random question, Orochimaru's arms? I thought he had new arms by switching bodies. Plus he clearly just raised his arm earlier in the war to suck out the chakra from Kabuto. So it's not like they were damaged like they were in the first part of the series. That seemed random. But he seemed pretty anxious to get them back, rofl... I wonder if he researched the Shinigami simply to see if it were possible to get his arms back. <_<

I'm really kind of hoping that the Hokage's end up at the battlefield. Edo Tensei Madara vs Edo Tensei Hirashima would be some major fan service. Plus then Naruto could punch his Dad again, for fun, like old times!

So, some time ago I asked why not revive people like the previous Hokage and I was told they were sealed inside the Shinigami, so the resurrections through Edo Tensei of First, Second and Third kind of make sense.

But let's get to the things that don't, such as:

-Why Minato? His remaning chakra was sealed through a different jutsu inside the Kyuubi if I remember correctly.
-Why would an ultimate jutsu of the third Hokage be sealed inside an Uchiha shrine?

Also, I feel like the Edo Tensei thing has been taken too far. It's like no one ever really dies in this show anymore if they don't want them to.

Although since the jutsu is so OP I suppose it is only coherent to exploit all of its OPness.




I have yet to determine if this chapter was a major asspull or not, but regardless of that I didn't like the narrative employed. It didn't really build up any tension for the reveal of what they were doing.

Minato is the one who developed the Dead Demon Seal to begin with.
He taught it to the Third Hokage, not the other way around. So it's Minato's technique within the Uzumaki shrine. Which makes more sense because he's aligned with that clan since he married Kushina.

Also:

Minato is shown clearly using the Dead Demon Seal, thus putting his soul within the stomach of the Shinigami.

But as for the other point, in this chapter they were talking about an UCHIHA shrine. And I do remember that stone with writings from a past chapter. Probably mentioned during Itachi vs Sasuke or another following conversation about the Uchiha clan.

What was in an Uzumaki temple was the Shinigami's mask. I'm not even really sure why they had to go to an Uchiha shrine afterwards, to begin with.

Yeah, idk why they went back to the Uchiha Shrine. When they said that, I assumed Sasuke would look at the tablet with his EMS, but that didn't happen. Maybe he just wanted to hang out in the Uchiha part of town? Cause he swings that way?

Also, I know the majority of people hate Sasuke on this forum, rofl. But I thought it was neat to see Kishi do the same thing with Sasuke that he did with Naruto at the beginning of the time skip. And he even put Sasuke on the opposite side of the page, looking in the opposite direction. And Sasuke's comment of, "It's change a lot," versus Naruto's comment, "It hasn't changed one bit." More symbolism of them opposing. And the juxtaposition of Jiraiya & Orochimaru looking up at their "pupils."

Sasuke is such a void character he's not even getting lines. As if acting aloof to the point of seeming socially retarded was cool. Well, I guess it is for most of his fandom...

I'm not really a big fan of Sasuke, but he's important to the series simply because he is the primary obstacle for Naruto.

I was actually happy during the Itachi fight when Sasuke got his eye plucked out. I was like, "Yes... let Itachi win and get the EMS. >_>"
I was sad that it was an illusion.

Yes, but precisely because that's the only reason he's important, he's a really poor excuse of a rival character.
