theres open endings... and then theres half the goddam show missing. and it just totally pisses me off.
spent a week and a half downloading it, spent 3 weeks watching it in my spare time instead of a buncha other crap people have been bugging me to watch, to get totally shit on for an ending after watching 51 episodes. and i feel REALLY sorry for anyone who watched this show 1 episode at a time, subbed or on japanese tv, to get stuck with a bullshit end like that |

I don't know much about the series, but I do remember that TokyoPop licensed both the anime and manga.... it sounds like the manga is what started it all, and there seem to be 18 total volumes (TokyoPop released the first volume of the manga back in February). They seem to be releasing it as "Rave Master".
I would guess that if you care about the story, maybe there is more to the manga (TokyoPop's description blurb mentions it is the #1 most popular shounen manga from Kodansha). Someone who has followed it more could probably tell for sure. No idea what the story is with the anime.... from looking at CDjapan, volume 17 on DVD comes out June 4th, with episodes 49-51, but they don't list anything after that. Anime Caravan also seems to make it clear the series is complete with 51 episodes. Might just be the standard deal where the anime's ratings didn't sustain and they just didn't get a chance to produce another season..... or if the manga is still running, it could be that is the reason the anime's story doesn't conclude is because there was nothing more to animate. Someone who knows more about the original manga could probably confirm if the manga is still running in Kodansha, or if the manga is also complete (either way, 18 volumes is an awful lot of story). -Freakzilla |
