After reading the manga from peach-pit (the mangaka), i really looked forward to this show. it turned out to be quite nice, yet a bit disappointing.

while following a very chobits-style plot, the characters are very entertaining in their own ways ESPECIALLY Miu, my personal favorite (also voiced by my personal favorite Mai Nakahara). so far, its following the manga pretty closely, unlike Girls Bravo, its too bad its gonna be only 13 eps, which looks like it'll end somewhere in volume 2. the following volumes had some very interesting stories in them.

unlike Girls Bravo, DearS isnt entirely episodical, it does follow somewhat of a plot, which will eventually lead to a conclusion. The art is good, the sound is meh (excepting the OP by Under17, which is awesome). the story is good too, while not entirely new or refreshing. I personally like how the suddenly move from normal to SD mode giving it the same humor as in the manga. Ren is awesome, Miu is a goddess... dont really care for the rest XD.

How much service is in this anime, and how much of the series has content aside from the harem factor.

I really want to watch this series because of the character designs, but I would rather drown myself in a vat of my own piss then sit through another series that just uses fanservice to hook its viewers.

I've watched up to 9 , and it does develop pretty well.


All around, it's pretty amusing and not too bad in the "harem" department. I like the little motifs throughout (headmaster's garden, etc.).

Thought it was a 26 ep one, my bad.

And yet another show gets added to evergrowing group of
"great potential, lousy implementation".

i dunno why they made this only 13 eps... they did cut out quite a bit from the manga towards the end, but it still faithfully followed to a point. sad, but if the manga ever gets scanlated, do read it, its much more in depth, and has much more material where the anime left off (eg, the anime stopped just shy of vol.2, there are 6 vols out right now >.>)

Well, I was satisfied with the ending. Then again, I haven't read the manga (yet!)...

i just found out the manga is licensed, the first volume is gonna be released sometime this or next month. thats probably why there were never any scanlations.
