Well then, since I didn't see a thread in the specific anime discussion so I created one for the purpose of Find Your Anime Buddy group... so let us begin...

Episodes 1&2

I honestly don't mind the fact that it is a 1997-1998 anime and the art is old school, but for some reason Miyu's voice just doesn't seem to fit her... don't ask why, but some reason it just doesn't... maybe I'll get used to it soon, and it'll be okay.

Furthermore
I am so glad that kid died in the beginning... he was annoying as hell, but Lava seems cool, i wonder if he's gonna be doing all the fighting or if we'll get to see some cool scenes with Miyu beating ass

So what did you all think about the first set... i'm about to watch the next two right now, so bye for now

well i wont get into specifics per episode, but honestly I expected more up to episode 6.
The battles are short and not very vampiric at all. furthermore, the dialogue is merely decent. It seems that up to this point there is only the basic episodic style with not background plot that accompanies Miyu
But then again, it may very well get better, my honest hope is that the battles with the shinma are more epic in future episodes, and the show doesn't remain at its slow pace.

Oh yeah Quizap, join us!!!!!! =D (go old school with us)

Man if it were not for the fact it predates these other shows it would almost be Blood+ meets Hell Girl. (Hell Girl really leaning on it's vibe)
Ok, so Just to let you know the OAV was a bit darker, and cooler, in my opinion.. BUT this one is not bad. I forgot Larva talks in this one.

Like you said the animation looks pretty top notch. (well for it's day)
I would have to agree about Miyu's voice... it is so pale a voice, it could almost not be there.

Shiina is the first mini mascot to be both cute and freakishly ugly at the same time.
What a great line for the
dead nerd, "at least your not bored anymore" ;)

Train doll collector was predictable, but did you notice that each of the episodic stories do not necessarily have a good end?
like all the women crying in the end? trapped like doll/mannequin

Ep3 - Yeah yeah, mask possession. =P The designs seem to look a lot more like the ones from Magical Rayearth rather than the OAV inspired ones.
Ep 4 What did you think of Rieha and her talking puppet? I like how she enjoys that which Miyu does not.
taking Shima down!!! and even animals that were once humans

Ep 5 and 6
The movie one sadly you already knew what was going to happen.
bad thing about watching an older show that has been borrowed from, BUT
at least it had a better end.

and Ep 6 I like how she screws around with humans
the taxi cab driver at the beginning lol

yeah funk... i agree... the oav was much darker... i watched it first, so i assumed this would be much better... as for rieha... I like her, but her doll talked too much, lol... i was thinking, shaddup and let rieha herself talk... furthermore, her power seems the exact opposite of miyu's ice/fire... dunno if it was supposed to mean they are oppsite's or what...

but yeah, i guess my biggest qualm with this is the battles are just kind of boring in a way, there is no real suspense... as for blood +... definitely has a lot of similarities, like larva and the chevalier... it was funny watching it at some points, it just strikes me as odd that miyu
loves humans, but doesn't bother herself with them in the end... i can understand why, but if thats the case... why the happy go lucky attitude around her school buddies, guess ill have to wait and see... its been years since i saw the ova, and even still there are a lot of differences...

Being episodic as it is, is not entirely bad, i loved mushi-shi, bebop, black lagoon, etc... but those had bad ass fight scenes or mysterious paranormal thinking and were faster paced... i promised someone a review on this... so i am watching very carefully to try and think detailed about it, but as of yet, i can only say that i am not impressed thus far, however, we will see how the next 20 eps go

oh and yeah... i'll send you a pm or comment quizap... but if i forget, we will be at episode 11 on saturday... and i cant watch sunday... so ep 13 will start on monday

I watched this awhile back, but from what I remember it stays pretty much the same. It gets predictable a few episodes in, but I still enjoyed it overall.

Aye thanks for the reminder/warning.

Sting, Ep 7 has a bit more action in it.
with the choji (whatever it was called)
interesting about the girl reminding Miyu of her past

Ep 8
A bit dull. Ever wonder if the other student buddies are just more or less there to fill in time ;) I suppose it shows she is caring more for humans and such, but still

Sorry to jump to these eps, Might be out tonight.

well, i just finished watching bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, so this is nothing, but either way, the ova was so much better

no prob... we are on ep 7and8 after all... plus i agree with you ep 7 was not that bad, but 8 was... lets just say monster with a piano for a lower half of body... lame... its hard to imagine that the students were filler considering it is episodic and such, all of it i'm sure is meant for character development

One thing that would make this anime better would of been if it was bloodier... like if you saw blood splatters and guts fly out as people were torn asunder... but that may just be my opinion

I'll agree the OVA is much better so far... there's a reason it's in my top 10 after all
