Shuffle is Ecchi. Akira: R-16 is ecchi. Bakemonogatari? Not ecchi.
Yes yes, there's some breast jiggling, there's some panty shots, but if you ask me it's almost done in parody style. I mean, would you call Zetsubou an ecchi show because of the constant panty shots of that blonde girl? I certainly don't. Bakemonogatari is no more ecchi than say... Full Metal Panic. That having been said, I finished ep 1-4, can't wait for the rest. Somehow these oddball shows always end up being my favorites... |

Gotta agree with the overwhelming majority here, what little ecchi there is, is done with a purpose, not much of it is pointless, and without the constant mention of it, it was almost unnoticable.

Well, bakemonogatari is just really good. If you like slow-paced anime. I for one love the conversations, sothis doesn't. But it seems he mistunderstood opninion for fact. I waited for this kind of show for a long time. Clever conversations, but unlike death note or anything, it's easy to understand. It's pure art.

Yeah, I agree. I wouldn't really call this anime an ecchi, but I would say it has a more than normal amount of fanservice. As I said before though, much of the fanservice in this anime adds to the comedy, such as the shower scene, instead of subtracting from the story or comedy like it does in most other animes (that I've seen anyways).

But it's not... Sigh, You know what, nevermind. Obviously if there's a bit of fanservice (even if used in a satirical way) in any show it's automatically ecchi~ |

you know i wonder if some of the people who have issues with the convos are watching the bad translations...
i know ep 1 (about 1/3) and ep 3 (about 3/4) of the translations put on the web are basically trolls, incomprehensible, and not even remotely accurate. If you're watching a sub of this and the convo makes no sense. or its mediocre and not clever in the least. you're probably watching a "fake" sub. I would have fallen for them too, had my gf not pointed out how terrible the subs were. the ep 3 troll (which seems to have been picked up by most of the web sites for some weird reason) is so bad and inaccurate its not even funny. |
