This anime was on my gf's must watch list for the summer, and frankly, im not sure im going to follow it all the way through. but i admit, the first ep was good if a little predictable. My gf fell in love with it though, so unless the plot gets silly it seems like someone here in the apt will be watching it straight through to the end.

I searched, and there wasn't a thread yet for this anime, so i started it.

I watched the first ep last night, and though albeit distracted at the time, found it pretty interesting. Like you said, predictable, but I'm watching it more from a slice of life anime whose genre I am quite fond of. I'll probably be following this loosely on the side.

ep 2 was kinda cute.

this anime really is trying to overwhelm you with moe. I compare it to something akin to watching kittens play with a ball of string. cute, fuzzy, and really something you can only take in small doses. thus far it's not really noticeable.

I know i wouldn't willingly be watching it if my gf wasn't sticking with it.

that said. ep 2 was a bit funnier then ep 1 (which i thought was sorta bland) with a number of outright laugh out loud moments. Its still pretty predictable and it seems they're starting to slip a little yuri undertones into it (lord spare me)... though it's about K-on! level, or really innocent... thus far.

Love that comparison!

That's one I'll keep watching for sure and it's not only because of Mamiko Noto :P

really watching them try to play baseball was done just about as cute as kittens playing with a ball of string. it's was flat out funny, fuzzy and cute.

but yeah.. just cute pap thus far.

So this is odd.

Last season, most everyone was falling at K-ON!'s feet, adorning its shrine with unnecessary superlatives and unmerited comparisons. This season, Taishou Yakyuu Musume shows up, does much the same turbo-moe thing - albiet with slightly less of a focus on humour and a slightly better seiyuu cast - and poor old Az is stuck here discussing the series with himself.

Are people fickle, or is there some really big difference between these two series that I'm missing?

*wanders off to rec this thing with assorted moe anime*

well, im not really watching it, my gf is... i thought the historical and cultural angle was sorta interesting. Like how in ep 4, the guy simply didn't understand how saying a woman's place is in the kitchen could be offensive at all.

i mean simply didn't get it.

Other then that... it's cute and fluffy, like kittens playing with a ball of string. I don't know. it's not interesting me like k-on! did... but i'm not disliking the series at all. I agree, it's strange how no one is watching this one. Its sorta interesting... and i figured the yuri fans would be all over this one as there are plenty of yuri undertones (played mostly for comedy).

not to mention... it's no where near as mediocre as Sora no Manimani is

Probably because:

Rock band > Women's baseball?

I wasn't even heard of this until I opened this thread just now. I'm not a big fan of sports anime, I get terribly bored with them very quick depending on the sport.
