Episodes 1-5

I'm hooked ^_^
So far this anime has a very positive feeling to it.
Problems come up, but so far they've all been solved within a short timeframe and without too much drama.
Take episode 5 for example. In most attempted-drama-sport-series he would've been humiliated by that pitcher, shattering his short-lived comeback and forcing him to get back on his feet with lots of excessive drama's.
Instead, they do the opposite, and not just with this example, Major continues to happily surprise me with similar events.
So glad I decided to watch Major

Sorry, sorry, I am just going to bed. Saturday does not start actually for me till 8 hours from now. Once I get up and do some jogging.
BUT, I decided to just see one episode before bed, seeing that it will "officially" take me into Saturday.

So,
Ep#1
For the love of god! How much drama can they shoe horn into just ONE episode?

Ok. so, Mom dead, check. Dad injured, Check. Bullies in the school yard? Check. Teacher who is trying to be a mother figure for Goro, check.

I think I saw three rivers of tears, and sad music played twice. AND this was just episode 1.

What the hell did Vivis Queen talk me into here anyhow? ...

After my rant... It looks like it is going to be a heck of a great show.
Now to bed. Will be starting officially in 8-9 hours.

Episode 6

Alright, that was a drama-stuffed episode. On the other hand, they do skip all the way to three years after his death, instead of creating more fuss over it. What makes this series so much fun to watch for me is probably because most characters actually have believable personalities and reactions.

wasn't expecting it to get so serious, but it seems like a pretty enjoyable series. Gonna have a nice nap before I watch anymore, though.

Yeah, the characterisation is Major's seriously strong point. Goro Honda ROCKS!

And that episode when his dad dies completely knocked me cause I loved their relationship and didnt think the anime could get any better than that.

Glad you guys have good impressions of it so far.

So now dad is dead? This show could aptly be titled Major Unlucky, or Major Bummer.
I will say this, every episode keeps you pretty glued to your screen. I think it is a bit improbable that this much crap can happen to one family.
I love that Goro has a lot of talent. I noticed that the dad has a batter stance not unlike Ichiro of the Seattle mariners. There is a lot about the two leagues that is very true.

Now on to episode 6, But I am pretty sure someone is either gone, or severely injured. I guess I should have had a clue, when the opening credits show a picture of his dad.

man that was a bummer. goro's been through some depressing stuff lol. Though it's nice that they aren't afraid to kill off characters to move the story along. I'm sure it will only make goro even more awesome in the long run.

Episode 6

Aye, glad they went on ahead about 3 years. Story could have bogged down with too much grief.

Ok, I am impressed and also saddened for this teacher. Stand up thing to be the one to take care of Goro, but I feel for her. (And what the heck is she sick now too?)

Why you ask? She is having to take on the responsibilities of being a mom and a widow, and she was neither. If there is a reward for being the anime character with the biggest heart, she is pretty much leading the charge.

Episode 7-12

Love the dork with the Humpty Dumpty face, and the new girl WHO is a LOT like Goro! =D .

There is something to be said for how Goro needs this new girl to prod him on. He obviously had not made any real friends even in 3 years.
And it is not for lack of being a "good" guy.

Nice touch bringing back the coach of the little league. And the bully and his father, was a throw in a way. I did not figure him to be anything but the class bully (although you do see him in the credits)

Sometimes it is too bad the title of the episode, or shots in the intro give away the story from time to time. The fact that the episode where they put the team together was called Completed Team (or something like that) I sorta knew in those last 7-8 minutes that the bully would join them.

The fight against the sandlot team was great.
And the end with them loosing was a realistic touch.

And Joe Gibons... Joe Gibons... How would I handle a situation, where a man was responsible for his death? I doubt I would have the scrode pack to do what Goro does. Kid is pretty cool.
