Sorry Hasse but I went ahead and finished this without you. I thought the end had it's ups and it's downs but overall I think it worked for the characters and gave then rather good resolutions for their personalities even if the events themselves could be a little stupid.

I've read that things are quite a bit darker in the manga with

On the whole I found this a really interesting series to watch. The girly melodrama was high throughout but it maintained a certain level of charm and authenticity that made it enjoyable. There were some pacing issues early on and the characterization could be a bit wonky at times. Some of the arcs were quite weak and I never could bring myself to like Rei. However, the rest of the cast was fairly interesting and Nanako in particular did a good job of developing as a character. The interesting thing is throughout all the melodrama it was the simpler more real moments that were the best. Whether it was Mariko's struggles with her family or a simple reveal of a scar. These moments got the biggest emotional reactions from me.

Anyway, very good series. I'll give it a low 4- out of 5 or 7.5 out of 10.

Thanks for the buddy group Hasse. This certainly was an interesting one.

Huh. No long review? This is so unlike you.
