While examining an old Go board in his grandfather's basement, twelve-year-old Shindo Hikaru is possessed by the restless spirit of Sai, an ancient Go master who has waited for over one thousand years to play the Hand of God: the perfect move. Sai convinces Hikaru to act as a vessel for making his moves, but it is soon clear that Hikaru also enjoys Go and wants to play his own games. Moreover, the rules of Go have changed since Sai's time, and Go players from all over the world are now much stronger, having had the benefit of hundreds of years of evolution and experimentation by the masters before them. Can this unlikely pair form a successful partnership and rise to the top of Japan's Go community, and can Sai finally play the Hand of God and find some peace?

Yup, I'm part of the group too. I'll be watching episode 1 shortly. We're watching 1 episode a day everyday until it's done. A little fast, but if anyone wants to join they are certainly welcome.

Well anyway I was trying to solve that tournament game where they were playing... I noticed I wasn't able to keep black alive there... I wonder how it was done :)

I get that all the time BTime! Especially animeshadow, seems like he's watching every awesome anime I ever did and I get so jealous haha.
Yay for being on the "get to enjoy for the first time" side this time! It's working too, I'm really liking this anime, almost don't want to restrict myself to 1 episode a day ><. |

Just finished episode 5, was awesome. I like that hikaru's starting to get in on the action, I wonder how his and sai's interaction will develop. I'm a bit worried about the girl though, she's getting brushed off so much right now I feel a bit bad for her.
