@VivisQueen: I feel so awesome for convincing you. Yea, I was little over enthusiastic though... maybe. After 23 other series this season though, this definately stood out. K-ON and FMA are very strong as well, but this seems like it has the absolute most potential for greatness. (Cause well, FMA is a remake, and K-ON isn't really "uber greatness" material tbh, just a really fun anime)

One of the better animes this spring in my opinion (again after 1st ep :P which doesn't tell much). Nice mix of conspiracy, comedy and romance that is not groundbreaking but is really enjoyable to watch. Story have some potential, the characters are hard to judge yet but are defienietly nicely drawn.

FMA: Brotherhood is a remake to the first Fullmetal Alchemist, you don't have to watch the first, but i am guessing both will be quite different later on as Brotherhood follows closely to the Manga, where the first ventured off in it's own dirrection.

Episode 2:
Yeah, my biggest fear is that it will turn into another Darker than Black - a lot of really cool stuff happening cause it's cool, but ultimately not a very thorough explanation of what it all means and how it hangs together. At the least Eden of the East feels far wittier, so it has a lot more going for it than DtB had at the start. Also, the characterisation alone is making this shit seriously compelling. Akira has me watching his every move, he's so damned charismatic. That bit as he's getting on the boat.... ^_^ Anyway, I'm guessing the story will really kick in at episode 3... it's only a 12-ep show, so it can't take much longer to really start making sense.

Just finished watching ep 2 and again loved it. It feels as we are being given just enough to keep us interested and wondering what the hell is up with Akira and co, while filling the rest in with with some very engaging storytelling of Saki and her prince Akira.
Like VivisQueen, I am thoughrougly enjoying watching Akira Bang

Excellent Episode 2. I'm not getting all the way to Death Note vibes (episode 2 of death note basically clinched the entire series for me as brilliant), but pretty close. This is like "the" anime to watch for this season, and so far it's delivered.
My god the plot points crammed in there are amazing. WARNING: speculation you may not want to hear incoming My only major problem right now is that the anime hasn't had any "wow" moments yet. I expect it will, but so far it's been just build-up. Some of the buildup was a bit boring to be honest too, like their conversation on the dock/pier waiting for the boat. |
