Don't know why there isn't a thread yet, Shinsen Subs picked this up, and it's easily one of the better titles this spring. While it's clearly a video game adaptation, Production I.G. is putting their all out effort into making it an enjoyable experience. The animation is sharp, the voice acting top notch (Norio Wakamoto, Romi Paku as far as big names I recognize-- although Souichiro Hoshi and Kazuya Nakai really stand out in their roles here), and the fights are spectacles which make the show worth watching on their own.

Looking around for reviews, it seems like a hit or miss series, i.e. Zac on ANN is usually acidic and sarcastic in the extreme, but he's outright praising it as a solid action flick. But Karl on ANN ridicules it for being nonsensical and overly campy.

I'm probably just ignoring all the nonsense for the slick visuals, and manly dialogue (half the show is probably going to come out to "I challenge you to a duel *lol*"). Yukimura and Date's fight was a blast to watch regardless of how ridiculous it was, and I have to admit, that the idea of anything in a fantasy cartoon about the warring kingdoms period in Japan being too ridiculous, is a bit silly. So maybe I'm utterly wrong, and all the people that hate this sort of thing are right. But they can go back to reading their piles of shoujo reverse harem fujoshi fanbait/ seinen conspiracy theory manga. I still with this. * kinda annoyed by this ANN *

It certainly is fun to watch. Its defiantly one of this seasons shows I'm looking forward to watching every week.

I enjoyed the first ep :P The blonde haired beauty was especially good to watch ;) nice outfit ;D

Personally I found it kinda creepy how she interacted with Kenshin. It was like she was going to wet herself every time he looked at her ._."

It's based on capcom's game "devil kings" which was basically their version of dynasty warriors. I thought it was pretty fun, and the anime seems to captures the characters and action quite well. Should be some more good fights to come!

lol it's like everybody was on steroids, especially yukimaru, all in all a great series for me so far :P

I am the only one that thought this was utter crap? Of the 5 I've dropped this season so far, this was certainly one of the quickest. I'm not a fan of action in general, and this is just pointless, flashy action to the extreme (6 katanas vs 2 spears and a light show on par with gurren laggan insanity?).

Plus, shows based off games generally are worse then I hope for. (generally, not in all cases).

nope I'm with you all the way. This is the first one this season I can honestly say I hate. total sausage fest me beat chest me big dumb idiot look me punch friend friend punch me uh you strong me get stronger me beat chest.

I'm trying to sample as much of this season as possible. so far nothing seems as awful as this

So you took it seriously?

The first episode was outrageously brilliant. A horse with handle bars and exhaust pipes! We even get 4th wall commentary (Sasuke). The manly acting is great, and it looks beautiful. Whoever made this had huge fun going over the top.
