Wow, the start of episode 36 is beautiful. We finally get to see some of who Hohenheim is. I find him to be such an intriguing character. This was a more than satisfying start of his story.

So Selim is a homunculus. somewhat surprised me, I always thought he was just part of Bradley's human act.

That caught me off guard too.

I got thrown off by Pride's female seiyuu. It made me think Pride was a female character.

Its nice to see Hohenheim's backstory. and also why the homunculus' father looks just like him. also how he became immortal. feel kinda bad for him how the homunculus tricked him.

I'm glad he somewhat helped Izumi, don't if he did it to ensure she lived to be a sacrifice or just out of niceness.

Or maybe he is gathering allies.

As for his backstory, this beats the hell out of the 2003 version.

This raises the question though: if Homunculus is already immortal, what does he hope to gain with a new transmutation?

I just finished the series and Im not sure whats left for me to watch that id like after this. finishing this sort of long anime was bitter sweet because there's never been an anime with so many likeable character for me. Everything about this anime was amazing, It gets very grim early on but still has humor, beautiful stories and character relationships so i didn't feel like i was watching something like Monster. I might go back and watch the original but i remember the ending being crappy and not really enjoying the show.

Well we probably won't be seeing Wrath for a little while. The chances of him being dead though are zero.

So the end of the episode leaves me wondering: what's the plan, Stan Mustang?

I'm wondering if

he took her hostage in a bid to influence Wrath. Seems like an awfully risky proposition though.

Mustang is much better at coming up with plans than I am obviously.

Episode 55

I think Wrath walked all the way back to Central. He has got to be pissed.

At this point, I am extra glad I don't have to wait a week between episodes. There is a lot of tension now.
