Watching it right now, it's pretty enjoyable. Not hilarious but still has funny moments the mix is quite right between laughs, the fantasy part and the more "slice of life" parts. The anime has the Shinto tag but I don't think it really matters, I didn't see any Shinto references simply because I don't know anything about this religion, well I didn't see except for the very few side notes added with the fan-subs.
The part with Shiro-chan was quite touching. In ep 18 |

Not the best dialogue or animation, but totally endearing in every other way. I've already banked that I am going to love this since I am pretty obsessed with kitsune folklore. |

^ Yeah disappointed is a good way to put it. Kuu and Kou deserved a better anime that's for sure. It's like they knew they had created two great characters and decided to halfass the rest. Of course watching this next to Princess Tutu isn't helping.
