I don't know but I am starting to kinda like Suzaku.I mean this guy has a goal and will stop nowhere to achieve it just like Lelouche. This new Suzaku is really a worthy opponent for him.
I find the supernatural element of Code Geass really intriguing. Can't wait for more revelations about CC, the emperor and Geass.

Migandas: I agree. Way too much fanservice. It's actually taking something AWAY from Code Geass. The show never needed this element to be good in the first place, so why are they doing it now? Every time it happens, it pisses me off something rotten. And Suzaku is enough of a turn-off already.

As long it is a little, I do not really care, but I agree that this amount makes it less good then it would have been without/less.
The "flashback" ( That is, if you can call it a flashback... ) of a naket CC that is gliding towards him in his mind, is not really bothering but the pantyshots are... It is not bothering due every anime that has this kind of "flashbacks" have the girl gliding naket towards the main character so I am used to it...

Anyways,
I really do wonder how he calculated that quickly where to put the right amount of charges on the right place... I suppose if he would have calculated wrong, the building would have felt to the other side... Oh! Now I think of it again: Doesn't a blown up building just collapse like a card house instaid like a tree?

I also agree that the fanservice is excessive, but I think we're saddled with it at this point. Maybe it will be toned down, don't get your hopes up though. Despite a somewhat questionable start to the series, I loved episode 2, mostly because Lelouch is the king of awesomeness. The drama went full throttle, but I found it very enjoyable. It's time for some serious domination by Lelouch, and if this season doesn't have uber emotional conflict I'm going to be angry-a dead Suzaku is also high on my list. I'm praying that Suzaku doesn't win in the end.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 episode 2

Review: In Japan, the nail that sticks up gets hammered down—unless he has the power to control people's minds! Having regained his "Geass" powers and memories as the rebel leader Zero, Lelouch continues on the warpath of uncivil disobedience in Episode 2. Britannia is sending in reinforcements to deal with the rebels who have stormed a major skyscraper, but Lelouch has a plan. After talking things over with his allies, it's time to demonstrate his tactical brilliance with some hot mecha action and full-scale explosions. One fallen building and one dead military leader later, he addresses the world as Zero and announces that he has resumed his quest to topple Britannia.

Bringing down the establishment has never looked so cool—giant robot combat is the highlight of this episode, and the animation gives a true sense of size and power as the machines grapple with each other. A climactic exploding building and clever tactical maneuvers don't hurt, either.

Unfortunately, this "good stuff" doesn't happen until the last third of the episode, and the rest of it involves patchwork flashbacks (aha, here's another part of Lelouch's memory!) and various secondary-character activities. Let's also not forget the wordy technobabble durring the planning phases—"Interceptor will go up to 1500 and make a turn," whatever that means—and pardon me while I laugh at Lelouch's booming, over-dramatic speeches as Zero. If this series is going for epic grandeur, it's certainly got that nailed down—high-budget visuals and fully orchestrated music usually do the trick—but overall, the execution is a little off in this episode. It'll probably take a while longer to really get all the pieces moving.
I somewhat agree on this... :p

yea, there prolly gunna turn this into a big geass battle. at the vary least, Suzaku is gunna get one. lol about the fanservise, i dont even recognize it unless its vary over the top obveouse (rosareo). cept for how the red chick (forgot name) rides her mech (doggy style). i find that vary funny, and laugh everytime i see it. they needa intervew the mechs techs, and ask why only that one is like that, that be a funny ep. (ova anyone?)

If this ends the way Death Note ended, with some self-righteous **** winning the battle, I'll never watch anime again. Well, okay, I will. But I will be one very bitter anime fan.

Also, wow, am I the only person who loved episode 1, and including the flashbacks? I mean, rather than one giant memory dump, we get to find out in little tense snippets what exactly went on. I think that's generally better story-telling. Because I presume the actual outcome will be some great twist in itself.

I started rewatching Code Geass season 1 and noticed something very interesting.

Big spoiler, dont look at it if you haven't seen season 1.
It happens shortly after Lelouch uses his geass on Suzaku near the Island of God. When Lelouch tells Suzaku to "Live" after being ordered not to move and act as a sacrificial pawn in order to kill Zero. Shortly after that, Suzaku is ordered to help Cornelia deal with the Chinese and Suzaku is pretty much dead because he's out of energy. Lelouch shows up and when he says "Live" again, his geass with Suzaku turned on again.

Is this just an error in the show, or could it be with the right key word, Lelouch's geass can still work on anyone?

I think his geass got more powerful. He might be able to give the same command to the same person twice. thats what i thought.

I liked the first episode too, pretty good one, in fact I was pleasantly surprised how they handled that cliffhanger.
