Don't skip the last episode... ^_^
Do skip the first though... That was my reason for dropping it before... Rewatched the series and love it... :p Watch it in sub... Subs are 99.9% of the time better due the correct way of pronouncing the names.

1st episode is filled with awesome. Then you get straight into the Golden Age arc, which is awesome as well but drags on and on. Plenty of character development, but like I said, alot of the time it feels like it's dragging it's knuckles through the mud. Then you get to the finally episode, back to pure win. A very strong wrap up to the first arc. Both in ending and left over suspense for what's to come.
Berserk shines very brightly in a few catagories. Gore, blood, violence, action, character development and relationships. The main negative is the way the story is told. That's where it could have been polished a bit, but it is what it is. The manga is a must read for those that want to know the complete story. I'm up to volume 21 myself. One difference that needs mentioning is Puck. A small flying elf. It's thanks to Puck that Guts can actually survive many to most of the battles he's involved in outside of the Golden Age arc. Also he acts as Guts conscience in a sense. In my book Berserk is anime and manga gold. It's not for everyone but for those that do like it, they typically like it alot. |

This was one of my earlier animes' that I watched. I really liked it, but the animation in through out the series seemed very lazy. Later, I started reading the manga. I haven't gotten very far, but I do have to agree with the latter. The manga is better than the anime.

Just started watching this, and am on episode 4. So far, it's on an 8/10 for me because the characterisation is frickin' awesome. The animation is so dated, but it still feels really exciting. Glad I picked this one up.

Vivi's Queen: As I've said many times, don't waste your time with this subpar anime and read the manga. You will have to read it anyway (since there is no ending) I suppose and it is better not to spoil the experience .-)
P.S. No offense (or spoiler, I hope) but concerning your avatar - well, I wonder how long will you keep Griffith... I think I would rather use Josif Stalin than him. |

Am on episode 14 now. A couple of fucked up things learned about Griffith, but for some reason it makes me admire him more. Gatts si great, Caska is great, love the story: 8.5/10.
